I never ever thought about this, but recently I made a query in access so I
can make a customer mailing list based on relational information and it was
so easy to make the query and join tables and assign criterea using access.
And I haven't tried or thought about this cause in my own small asp projects
I've never used a dbase with queries in...

If I have a fairly big Access MDB, that is relational, and has, say, 100
objects (forms, reports, modules, etc.), what is the path to get this
database "online".
Is there a way to put the tables online and then distribute the front end to
each user?
What if I want to have all the forms and stuff online? How do you approach
something like...

Our IT department wants to place our Access 2000 tables on an SQL
server due to the fact the tables are quite large.
With that said, can we still use the Access queries or do we have to do
everything via SQL views? I would think we could just create an ODBC
connection to the tables on the SQL server and that is the only thing
we would need...

Architecture: Access 2003 client, Oracle 9i repository, no Access security
in place, ODBC linked tables.
100 or so users, in 3 or 4 groups (Oracle roles actually): Admins, Updaters
and ReadOnly. Each group sees a different set of menu options when they
open the client and login to Oracle.
For the sake of speed I use pass-through queries...

We have just recently migrated the data from our Access 2000
backend to Postgres. All forms and reports seem to run correctly but,
in many cases, very slowly. We do not want to switch over until we
can speed things up. We would like to start implementing Stored
Procedures so we can do Server-Side processing.
Can anyone recommend a book...

I need to convert a 17mb access 2000 db to Oracle and house it in a
Citrix farm. The issue: we have never converted an Access Db to Oracle
but can probably use Oracle's Workbench to assist with this. Also - the
citrix folks do not want us to keep the FE in Access as the queries and
other activities consume a lot of power. The users will be in...

Hi All,
I started developing in Access, and people took notice and so we're
starting to migrate into our corporate's bigger Oracle system.
I'll still be using my developed Access front ends, but will be
migrating my back ends to Oracle ODBC.
1. Does anyone have recommendations for books or web resources for
general...

Hi all!
Recently i need to urgently perform an audit trail for my newly built system. I have gone thru many threads about using trackchanges() function at beforeupdate to record the changes made in the form. However this method works well only when the changes is made directly thru forms.
In my system, user can make the changes either by...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
