Heaven or hell?

Bill Gates died in a car accident.

He found himself in Purgatory being sized up by God .
.. "Well, Bill, I'm really confused on this call. I'm
not sure whether to send you to Heaven or Hell. After
all, you enormously helped society by putting a
computer in almost every home in the world and yet you
created that ghastly Windows 95. I'm going to do
something I've never done before.
In your case, I'm going to let you decide where you
want to go!"
Bill replied, "Well, thanks, God. What's the
difference between the two?"
God said, "I'm willing to let you visit both places
briefly if it will help you make a decision." "Fine,
but where should I go first?" God said, "I'm going to
leave that up to you."
Bill said, "OK, then, let's try Hell first." So Bill
went to Hell. It was a beautiful, clean, sandy beach
with clear waters. There were thousands of beautiful
women running around, playing in the water, laughing,
and frolicking about. The sun was shining and the
temperature was perfect.
Bill was very pleased. "This is great!" he told God,
"If this is
Hell, I REALLY want to see Heaven!" "Fine," said God
and off they went. Heaven was a high place in the
clouds, with angels drifting about playing harps and
singing. It was nice but not as enticing as Hell. Bill
thought for a quick minute and rendered his decision.
"Hmm, I think I prefer Hell" he told God. "Fine,"
retorted God, "as
you desire." So Bill Gates went to Hell .
Two weeks later, God decided to check up on the late
billionaire to
see how he was doing in Hell. When God looked down
into Hell, he found Bill shackled to a wall,
screaming amidst the hot flames in a dark cave.
He was being burned and tortured by demons.
"How's everything going, Bill?" God asked.Bill
responded-his voice full of anguish and
disappointment, "This is awful, this is not what I
expected. I can't believe this happened. What happened
to that other place with the beaches and the
beautiful women playing in the water?"God said, "That
was the screen saver."

We're Mad As Hell And We're Not Going To Take It Anymore http://hownow.brownpau.com/index.html The web is a mess. We're tired of this deluge of <font> tags, nested tables, spacer GIFs, and broken HTML. We're tired of having to make separate pages for Netscape 4 users and adding "?printable=1" query strings to URLs just to come up with text only output. We're tired of unclosed tags and unquoted HTML tag attributes. We're tired of <p>...

I am reposting a portion of a thread that I am involved in under a new topic because it seems that there are still people that believe the whole "DLL Hell" myth. I hope I can shed some light on this deception for some..... "Michael A. Hello, dll hell has been eliminated in .NET using assembly versioning. I am new in .NET and would like to know if there is any dll-hell-equivalent in .NET Windows or Web development environments that need to be addressed/aware of? Thank you.

Ok, its a friday, I'm at work and I cant get this to work: I have 3 listboxes on one tab control page. when i select an item in listbox1 i want whatever is selected on the other 2 listboxes unselected. when listbox2 is selected, 1 and 3 should have no items selected and the same with listbox 3. Sounds simple... should be simple! I have tried listbox.clearselected(), listbox.selectedindex=-1 and beating it with a large stick. But so...

I just spent hours trying to figure out why even after I set my SQL table attributes to UTF-8 only garbage kept adding into the database. Apparently you need to execute "SET NAMES 'utf8'" before inserting into the tables. Does anyone have experience working with other languages using Django or Turbogears? I just need to be able to retrieve and enter text to the database from my page without it being mangled. I know these frameworks...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
