For anyone who is having this problem and want to know the solution. Add this line of code before your connect method call. It loads up some config file that the code behind the scenes needs that causes the delay when the config file is loaded behind the scenes. int temp = ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit;

I have an application page with a datagrid with a checkbox on each row. The user should check the rows they want to modify and then click a button. When the button is clicked, I have a Click handler that builds a url and then registers a startup script to open a modal dialog window. With XP SP2 installed the pop-up blocker stops the windows from displaying. Is there any way around this? My users are too stupid to turn off the popup blocker...

Hi, I have a website that uses an ISAPI filter that will redirect anyone going to any page on the site to an SSL login page (on a different website with the same root domain) if they do not have the appropriate session cookie already. After logging in on that page successfully they are given the cookie and redirected back to the page they initially tried to go to. I would like to create a Windows application that gets data from that...

Hello all, On occasion I want to open hyperlinks (images, etc.) in a new window. In the past, I've used target="_blank" to open the link in a new window. However, using the "target" attribute causes my pages to fail validation (strict doctype). The validator says "There is no attribute 'target'.." So...how do I open a link in a new window, without Javscript, and pass strict validation?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
