I have a webapp (actually several) who's folder is setup to use HTTP
Authentication through IIS (not using any .NET Authentication in the
application itself).
Everytime I open up the solution in VS2003, it prompts me for the
username/password - - for each webapp even though it is the same
username/password for both (and on the same server). Is there anyway I can
include this login information in the project files so I do not have to
enter it every time?

Without modifying your existing authentication scheme, the short answer is
no.

App servers such as quixote, webware and skunkweb (just to name a
few) offer a clean environment to develop Python webapps. I have some
problems, however, understanding their security model.
My objective is to host webapps from different people on a single
Linux server; because of that, I want to be sure that one webapp
cannot interfere with another.
My first attempt at privilege separation went through users & groups.
Unfortunately...

I have an ASP.NET (C#) web app on a remote server. Whenever I try to debug it, I get:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. Access is denied."
I did some research on this, and I do have the user as a member of both Administrators and Debugger Users. (Machines are on a
workgroup, so its just a user with the same username/password on the remote machine). Aside from the two groups to put the user...

I would appreciate any help with the following, havn't found any answers for this in my research to date.

The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

My web app was running fine until I decided to change the custom errors
parameter in the Web.config file. I set it to "On" and the app stopped
working in IE but it works fine in Mozilla!
So I turned back to:
<customErrors mode="Off" />
and now the problem doesn't go away (in IE). Whenever I click anywhere past
the login page it returns back to the login page.

I was under the impression that creating the app_offline.htm file at the
root of the webapp would cause all handles to be closed so that the app could
be removed. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. One handle remains open.
Debugging shows that it's actually the IIS cache and not ASP.NET that owns
this handle. During IIS shutdown, the handle is closed with the following
stack trace:
ChildEBP RetAddr

I am working on a web app that required authentication to AD.
The authentication is working fine the way I am doing it, but
was wondering what the best practice is.
My code doesn't actually authenticate to AD as much as it
does authenticate to AD by using LDAP.
DirectoryEntry(szServername, szUsername, szPassword,
AuthenticationTypes.Secure) where szServername is a string that is
dynamically built as: "LDAP://" + this.txtServer.Text

I have an intranet site on my LAN which has "anonymous access" turned
OFF, and "integrated Windows authentication" turned on. This allows
me to access the "AUTH_USER" server variable, which I use to look up
application rights in SQL Server. With IE6 clients, this has worked
flawlessly for several years.
Our users are currently running IE6, but my parent agency has
announced an upgrade to IE7 beginning next month, so I have installed...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
