I am using the System.Net.Webclient to try and download an
XML file from a website but am receiving a HTTP protocol
error when running the DownloadFile() sub routine. I did
a HTTP trace using internet explorer to see what is
happening in the request and it looks as though the
request originates using HTTP/1.1 to an IIS server
authenticates itself but ultimately gets executed by a
Java Application server and when the request is fulfilled...

Hey all... i have to login a page and upload a file to that page ( cant
access to the code ) , Patrice and Kevin told me i could do it with
System.Net.WebClient, i could, but with a test site here in my intranet,
that website ( HTTPS ) detects i m not using the login form.. and i cant log
in that app...how can an ASP page detects if i login with the site or using
webclient ?

For some reason I can't get a WebClient to access an outside URL from
behind our firewall. The code works when it runs outside the firewall.
I turned on windows authentication in the web.config
<authentication mode="Windows" />
and set up IIS to not allow anonymous access.
My browser is set up to auto detect the proxy server, so IE/Firefox can
access outside pages, so I added code to auto-detect the proxy server.

Hi!
I need to pass some strings via an HTTP POST from page1 (in my app) to
a page on another server.
I stored my data in a NameValueCollection and then sent it using
WebClient.UploadValues.
Everything works fine but if one of the string contains a european
character (èéòàù...) it's not sent correctly and the char is received
as a '?'
I read at least 20 different posts on similiar problem but didn't find
a solution yet.

I'm working on a asp.net 2.0 website which needs to access a database on
another server via an request. This database is placed on another server
which is not based on ASP.NET, but traditional ASP. The ASP.NET may access
the database on the other server by requesting a .asp page with some
parameters - and hte output on the .asp page was the result from the
database query... So I need to access a asp page on this other server...

I followed the instructions from MSDN for Webclient UploadFile and I get an
error: Could not find file 'C:\testfile.xls'.
If I add the file (c:\testfile.xls) to the server I do not get the error and
the file is copied from the server to the server, rather than from the web
client to the server.
Please help!!!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
