Hello all,
I have a form with a text field (textBox1) on it.
Apparently, textBox1.Focus() doesn't work when the form is initializing. I
put this in the Constructor and also in the Load event for the form.
textBox1 still doesn't get the focus when the form comes up. How do you do
this?
Thanks

Form.Owner and Form.Parent, what's the difference between them?
Form.ShowDialog() and Form.Show(), when to use which?
Form.Activated(), what does it mean when saying a Form is "activated"?
Thanks!

I have a C# form application. Once my main window is showing I want to
pop-up a login type dialog. What event would I trap to affect this? I
tried handling the form load but the main form window is not yet visible
then.
Thanks!

I want to run something once my form in completely loaded and drawn but
running at the end of form load doesn't do I guess cause of the large
dataset fill and the form isn't fully loaded. Where can I stick some code
so that I can run it after the form in fully drawn and loaded? I was told
there is no real way to know when it is "completely" loaded?

Using VB 2005 Beta.
I have a form containing a DataGirdView. The cell enter, cell validating,
row enter, row validating events have a good bit of code that gets excuted
for each of these events. I have noticed that when the form loads, each of
these events run 3 times, before the form is ready for interaction with the
user. I would like to set a boolean variable to true when the form first
starts loading and change it's value when the...

I thought that the Load Event fired first and the Activated event fired next
when a control is shown. For example
Dim myForm as New Form1
myForm.Show
I put a breakpoint in the load event and one in the activated event and the
activated event fires first. I am trying to implement adding an event
handler in the load event for the activated event then removing the handler

Hi there
i have created a registration page containing a form than sends username
password to an asp processing page. If the user exists it sends the user
back to the registration page with server.transfer command otherwise it adds
the new user to the database as expected.
Anyhow I now want to add an upload feature to the registration page (using
pure-asp). The example I used says that the form Enctype property should be
set to...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
