context menu problems need help

VP
G'day folks,

well i am attempting to get an understanding on how to create the
menuitems in a context menu on the fly. So far I have managed to
actually achieve the menu items being created for the context menu.
However, I have stumbled across one problem. Which is that how does
one go about enhancing the event handler for the context menu to
invoke individual actions for each of the menu items.

I have included a snippet of my code. In this sample example, I
created a button, which essentially adds 4 menu items based on
strArray to the context menu. Any recommendations on how to improve
the context menu event handler so that when I click on menu item "A"
in the context menu, the message box pops up.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

thanks in advance.
VP

string[] strArray = {"A", "B","C","D" }; //declared as global

private void contextMenu1_Po pup(object sender, System.EventArg s e)
{
try
{
MenuItem miClicked = (MenuItem)sende r;
string item = miClicked.Index .ToString();
switch(item)
{
case "A":
MessageBox.Show ("A");
break;
case "B":
MessageBox.Show ("B");
break;
case "C":
MessageBox.Show ("C");
break;
case "D":
MessageBox.Show ("D");
break;
}
}
catch
{}
}
//creating menuitems for context menu when the Push Button is pressed.
protected void button1_Click(o bject sender, EventArgs e)
{
for(int i=0;i<strArray. Length;i++)
{
contextMenu1.Me nuItems.Add(str Array[i]);
}
}

"Open .Net Command Window Here" context menu for Windows Explorer: The reg file described below adds a new menu item to Windows Explorer's context menu when you right-click over a folder (or the drive root). The menu item text is "Open .Net Command Window Here". When you click it, it opens a command window positioned at that directory and runs the vsvars32.bat file to set the .Net Framework environment variable settings. This makes it...

Hello All, I have several Pictureboxes (linked to an AccessDB) on a VB.NET form. I would like to use a context menu to allow the user to open the picture in their default picture viewer or editor. I'd like to use the same default viewer/editor and open with... choices that are present on the users computer. Does anyone know how I can find this information programatically, so my picturebox context menu uses the same settings as the...

Hi all, I'm just wondering if any one can help me with this development issue I'm having. I've created a customized treeview control to handle the particular tasks to which I'll be using it. Within the control I'm dynamically creating a context menu and assigning it to the ContextMenu property of the control -- think of this like the default context menu for standard textboxes -- the context menu has a number of menu items that reflect...

I'm having a problem trying to add a link to my add-in to a context menu. I'm trying to add it to the context menu that you get when you right click on a stored procedure within the Server Explorer and there are a number of problems that I've hit. I'm using VS.NET2005 and am trying to debug the add-in, so when running it it loads up another instance of the IDE. As I've experienced a number of strange scenarios I'm going to list them...

Hi, I have a list box with a context menu. When I right click the menu appears as expected. However when I select an option on the context menu the menu does not close. The click event on the menu is fired but the menu remains. Is there anyway I can get this menu to close when I select a menu option?

Hi all. I know there is a lot of mystery around the desktop context menu. Plenty of brickerbrack about adding shell menu extensions, but not much on shownig it. Using ShellContextMenu interfaces, it's easy to show context menus for files and folders, but the explorer context menu is elusive. I can show it, but I'm wondering if someone could help me out with a kink. It's easy to find the desktop HWND and post a right click message to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
