I'm having a problem trying to add a link to my add-in to a context
menu. I'm trying to add it to the context menu that you get when you
right click on a stored procedure within the Server Explorer and there
are a number of problems that I've hit. I'm using VS.NET2005 and am
trying to debug the add-in, so when running it it loads up another
instance of the IDE. As I've experienced a number of strange scenarios
I'm going to list them separately in the hope that I can get answers to
them all.
1. In order to test how to add an item to a context menu I first of
all tried to add one to "Code Window" - the main development source
window. I ran my code, which launched a new copy of the IDE and in
turn launched my add-in. I then stepped through the code which I'd
written to add the menu item. Checked the menu in the new IDE instance
- no change. Checked the menu in the debugging IDE - no change. Closed
everything down and restarted the IDE and my menu appears. I debugged
the add-in again and the launched copy of the IDE didn't contain my new
menu, even though the one which spawned it still does.
2. The same as above, but with the item menu remove code running. What
I seem to find is that the code never makes a change to the currently
running instances. What I have to do is close them down and restart
them.
3. Changed the "Code Window" to "Server Explorer". Now the same
circumstances as 1 occur, but instead the item is added to 2 context
menus despite there only being one call to AddControl. These are the
Data Connections menu under Server Explorer and for the context menu
for each of the defined servers.
4. Changed the "Server Explorer" to "Stored Procedure", but cannot get
a context menu to be displayed within the list at all. I've checked
and the commandBar name is valid and I can see an extra child being
added by monitoring it within the watch window.
I'm sorry if this is a bit wordy, but I'm finding the whole thing
puzzling. I've not included the code to add the menu item as I've
checked and it seems to be standard and it does seem to work. At least
sometimes and to varying degrees. Anyway, if anyone can help to shed
some light on what I'm seeing happen then I'd appreciate it.

I use the NUnit VS addin intensivly in development C# projects. Now I
have to write a project in managed C++ and I have problems with the
NUnit addin.
First, the Addin extends the context menu with entries for running
single tests or debug them. It seems, then on C++ prgrams it can't find
the TestAttribute, so it takes a long time until the context menu
appears.
Second, I get no context menu entries, nor in the cpp-file nor in the h-

Hello
I have to create a small addin which works on Powerpoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel on Office 2000, XP, and 2003.
This addin consists in adding 2 new Buttons in the "File" Menu of office. This is properly done, but the events which should be triggered with the button.click method are not triggered in Word.
I don't understand because it properly works in the 3 others host applications.
If someone has an issue, I would be most grateful....

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
