RichtextBox formatting

I have a RichTextBox on my form and I want to save the text that a user
writes into it in a AccessDB but I want to save the formatted text not
only plain txt I have seen in some programs that the db table has 2
columns one for the plain txt and one for some enconding I do not know
but I know for certain that in that column all formatting are hold, is
there a way to do this?
Because to insert the rtf format to the DB is not realy efficient I
think! Or maybe you can point me to the right direction!

PLS HELP THX

I've got a problem with the RichTextBox control in .Net where the garbage collector doesn't reclaim its memory after I've finished with it. My program adds a series of rtb's to the control array of a panel to make a basic text editor. When the form that the panel is on is closed these rtb's are still in memory. If you want to see the probelm try this: create a form which has a panel on it. Create a class,

I am getting an unhandled system exception while writing to a RichTextBox. The process may run for a few hours or days before the error is generated The message is "Cannot access a disposed object named RICHTEXTBOX." A check of the stack trace indicates the error is from the DLL that controls writing to the RTB. The form has not been closed and the line of code referenced is in a catch block that writes any error to this form's RTB (named...

I have lines of data coming from a server being written to a RichTextBox... The problem is that if I let this program run for a long period of time there are hundreds of lines of text showing up in the RichTextBox.. How would I go about setting a buffer size that would remove old lines as new ones are being added? Also, how can I do this without removing the formatting in the box. (I tried to do some array manipulation and replace the...

Hello All. I'm using the RichTextBox control to show text to user that can do the primary font formatting: fontname, size, color, bold, italic and underline. Unlike the RichTextBox used in VB 6, this control in .NET do not apply the expected formatting when there are multiple selection of different font formats. For example, if I select a text that have portions in Bold and other portion

The documentation for the RichTextBox is sketchy at best. I want to do a very simple task but I cannot find information on this. I am using a RichTextBox as an output window. Some text I want to just add plain (e.g.. rtf.Text += "new stuff..."; ) but some text, when added, I want to be in a different color or font size. Find() will not work because the text will vary. I have delimiters on it so I could recognize it with a regular ...

When I use ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste from a RichTextBox into NotePad ... I get nice ASCII text with the proper returns. Everything looks good. When I paste into WordPad ... I get the RichText font attributes and paragraph formatting as seen in the RichTextBox. Again, everything looks good. Trying to do the above programmatically is causing me problems. The text is there, but in NotePad the returns are absent and the square...

You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
