Is there a way to check my site's bandwidth usage via PHP? I'd like to
"gracefully bail" if I start to get near my host's limit. Its running on a
shared Linux box, on Apache 1.3.31 and PHP v4.3.3 as a module.
Thanks.

Greetings,
I am creating a web application, which I will be selling licenses to
be able to use it. So Customer Group A, could purchase 3 licenses,
Customer Group B could purchase 30.
With the web app I am using asp.net/vb.net
This means Customer Group A, could only have 3 concurrent users logged
in, and for Customer Group B only 30 at one time.

Hi all,
I have an asp.net application from which registered users can download
files. What I want to implement is a bandwidth restriction for certain
users. What I DON'T want to do is restrict the bandwidth on the IIS
side. It really should be handled in the code. Here is a code snippet
showing how downloads are currently handled (standard implementation I
guess):
// fs: FileStream

I'm writing an application that's bandwidth intense.
My available bandwidth is 1.5Mbps (cable modem) and I know
I can reach around 1.4Mbps, if not more.
The application I am writing right now simply connects to a
newsgroup and downloads the headers. It doesn't do any more
specific programmming after that. However, the app will
use, at most, 100kbps bandwidth. I'm hoping that it can run
much faster than that and reach somewhere close...

While stress-testing our ASP.NET app, we discovered a flaw in our test
set-up, which also reveals a flaw in our ASP.NET configuration that we do
not know how to address.
We simulated too many clients, making requests faster than the bandwidth on
that part of the network could consume the responses. It seems that the
inability of the requestors to receive their responses causes IIS, and/or
aspnet_wp.exe, to eventually max-out its...

I know that this thread is inappropriate for this list, but c.i.w.a.servers
is dead at my address.
Google has been around to my site twice this month and downloaded almost a
GB, putting me over my bandwidth limit both times I imagine that if I
wasn't paying a flat fee, that would be costing me money.
Is there a way of limiting this while at the same time allowing Google
reasonable indexing? I imagine that they are downloading the...

In a ASP.NET application, users can upload files from their hard disk
to the server. Users can also create new files & directories directly
on the server, rename them, delete them, edit the files etc. Whenever
a user performs any such action, I did like to find out the bandwidth
used in the process.
Is it possible to find out the bandwidth usage using ASP.NET?

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
