I have MyEnumeratedSet { ... some values go here ... }
I have a variable that is defined as
MyEnumeratedSet MyVariable;
I have a function that needs to be able to set a variable by Ref
MyFunction(ref System.Enum Parameter)
{ ..... Parameter has to be set here }
so I have tried calling it by
MyFunction(ref (Enum) MyVariable);
unfortunately this yields compiler errors and it seems like there is no way

Hi All,
I need some advanced samples or references for passing custom objects over
the network using sockets.
Without using Remoting what are other options in .NET Framework for this
binary serialization.
Thank You

We are working on a distributed VB.Net application which will access a SQL
database located on a known server. Each client will run on the user's
local machine. To implement this, we are trying to use remoting for our
access to the SQL server, with the remoting being via IIS. Since all of our
users will have accounts in the destination domain, we want to have IIS
handle the security for us and not allow anonymous. We have set this up...

Hello,
Please Help.....
I have been working with some tcp/ip socket communication within a C#
program recently. Basicly, I have a program (myProblemProgram) that has a
socket connected to another program for information passing. Upon receiving
a particular "command" from the the information passing program,
myProblemProgram will launch a separate thread to do individual communication
with another file transfer program. The thread...

Gidday,
I am stuck trying to create a COM Callable Wrapper for the class (shell
only) below.
As you can see I have tried to define my interface and it would be all good
if I wasn't passing my enum into the main functions (which are marked public
static). I am unable to create an interface for the enum, and I can't mark
it as public static so not sure how to get the compiler to swallow it.

I want to be able to pass different enums into a method which makes use of the enum in some way.
I've put together a simplified example below. How do I correctly pass an enum (eg Test1 or Test2 as
shown in CallingMethod) to the UseEnum method?
enum Test1 {Err, Start, Block, Hold}
enum Test2 {Err, Book, Plug}
void UseEnum(Enum myEnum){
string enumStr = Enum.GetNames(typeof(myEnum));
}

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
