creating interactive controls (hit test based)

Hi,

Is there any good tutorials out there on creating interactive custom
controls that have clickable objects that are drawn through GDI+ and use the
hit test method to determin what to do with them? or any good controls I
could use to look at the code for that do something similar (please not code
from code project, can't access the site from here currently, work network
is blocking the site for some reason) thanks!

(originally posted to one of macromedia's groups; no help, so hopefully someone here can help me out. I'm using VBScript ASP.) When designing administrative interfaces to websites, we often need to provide users with a mechanism to change the order of items that are listed on the page. For example, the _New York Times_ website (http://www.nytimes.com) lists a bunch of top news articles, and normally these are ordered by purely mechanical...

Is there any way, in C, of interacting with a running program, but still using code that is portable, at least between linux and Windows? By "interacting" it could be something as simple as detecting a key board hit so that it could invoke scanf(). So a portable key board data available routine would satisfy my minimum requirements. But more generally I want to know if one can write portable C code that allows a user to change the...

It will be a part of a web based project so it has to work on the web. And the important is as the user slides the control the graph will change itself. How can I get c# to draw a graph on a website depending on the slide controls postion. thanks coskunc

The way the system works is, you create a user control (ascx) that will be a template and must implement the interface IPageTemplate. You then create one or more user controls (ascx) that implement the IPageContent interface. A page (aspx) must then be created that loads (using Page.LoadControl) the page template, and the page content. The page content adds itself to the page template. The page template is then added to the aspx's control...

Hello, I am trying to make a user control that is interactive. What I am doing is drawing a set of bars on a control similar to a gantt chart and allowing a user to place the mouse over them to see a tool tip, or if you click on them to open a form associated with data tied behind them. What I can't figure out how to do (I have been looking at a few very complex examples and it's hard to pull out how they did it) is how do you create a...

Hi, I'm creating a CMS that I would like to be plug-in based with different plugins handling different kinds of content. What I really want is to be able to load/unload plugins on the fly without restarting the application. What I did was to create an AppDomain that loaded the plugins and everything was great, until I tried to pass something else that strings between the domains...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
