c# 2005 beta1, MDI, merge menustrip

Hi,
I'm setting the Allowmerge property of both the parent and child menustrip
but it doesn't work. I get two different menus instead of merged one when I
open a child window. Am I missing something?

Thank you.

Hi I installed .NET 2005 express edition, and am about to unnistall it again because it can't seem to be able to even insert a resource file into a project. Can anyone tell me is this right? Should it be able to? I know it's express edition, and therefore limited functionality, but surely resources are quite fundamental? Also, once it's downloaded, is there any way of getting access to the fully downloaded file incase you want to...

Could someone explain how to merge the form menu with the mdi container window. The menu strip items on the form window merge but I either end up with a blank blue menu on the form or top list of items that don't do anything. MDI Container.IsMdiContainer = true MenuStrip.AllowMerge = true /// First menu items this.miFile.MergeAction = System.Windows.Forms.MergeAction.Insert;

Hi All, I've run into a problem with the MenuStrip control and any help would be greatly appreciated! The problem I've got is that when use a control derived from the MenuStrip class all MDI merge functionality breaks - each MDI child window is given it's own menu rather than the mdi parent. To repeat the problem just create a very simple dummy app that has standard

Using ToolStripManager.Merge(ToolStrip,ToolStrip) I've been able to merge a MenuStrip into a MenuStrip but never a ContextMenuStrip into a MenuStrip. From the docs it seems to me I should be able to.

I don't see the mainmenu item in the toolbox of 2005. I guess I haven't created a project in 2005 using it yet. I know I upgraded some from 2003 to 2005 and they show the control mainmenu on the form1.vb design page. What do I use? Menustrip?

Hi everyone, I'm working with VB.Net 2005(.Net framework 2.0). I am having a problem in accessing the items in a menustrip of a form. Suppose there is an item in a menustrip named FILE. Under the FILE item there are 3 subitems- OPEN, SAVE and EXIT. Now, I wanna access and disable the 2nd subitem i.e. SAVE with its index value. In VB.Net 2002 it could be done by the following code: Me.Menu.MenuItems(0).MenuItems(1).Enabled=False The first...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
