Adding a Textbox to a ListBox -- Owner Draw?

I want to add a textbox next to each item in a Listbox on a Windows Form.

The items need to be scrollable so I thought that maybe this is possible
with an Owner Draw listbox.

Searching the web and newsgroups I don't find an example anywhere how I
could add a textbox or other control to an Owner Draw listbox.

Can someone show me how I'd add a textbox to each listbox item using an
Owner Draw listbox?

Second question... would this also work for a CheckedListBox?

Thanks,

I have a ListBox hold a list of my custom controls (it's UserControl based control with a couple radio buttons and a checkbox). Everything works and displays the way I expected it to. I can move through the list by dragging the scroll bar and it works fine, but if I try to use the up/down scroll bar buttons or page by clicking above or below the scroll thumb button the list does not scroll. Here's my OnDrawItem for the ListBox: ...

I'm trying to use an owner draw ListBox by subscribing to the DrawItem event to draw my custom control as an item in the ListBox. This event is triggered when I drag the scroll button but NOT when I click the up/down arrows on the scroll bar of the ListBox. How do I handle the user clicking the up/down arrows? Anybody have any ideas? Jim

Hello, I am creating an owner draw listbox for a windows application. It is all working, except the performance is significantly slower than the standard listbox. Basically what I have done is added two new properties (full source below): ChangeBackgroundMember = a bound data field which contains a boolean as to whether this record should get a special background color ChangeBackgroundColor = the color to use when the above...

Hi there, I have a list box (just happens to be owner draw). When I select multiple items using the CTRL key, the items I have selected become highlighted (obviously). Now, when I click on one of the selected items in order to initiate a Drag operation, the other items are deselected and the item I have just clicked becomes the only one selected! I tested this with a normal list box (not owner draw) on a simple form. I can select...

I am owner-drawing a listbox, in an attempt to create a nice list with some custom "fields" and text layout. Essentially it works, but I must be missing something big, conceptually, because I get all kinds of screen artifacts and weirdness. My general goal is: list item with a few areas for text, every other item shaded a light color for readability, font color changes with selection. The listbox is populated with custom structurs...

Just to set the scene, I have a listbox in an application which im working on. The List box will have owner drawn items in it when it has items. To start with the listbox is empty. What Im trying to do is have it so that when the listbox is empty, the background is gradient filled with a message for the user in the middle. See code below: if (lstRecoveryItems.Items.Count == 0) //{

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
