Same way, but you retrieve or pass in a byte array instead of a
string.

The binary values are read and written as byte arrays; e.g

Microsoft.Win32 .RegistryKey rk = Microsoft.Win32 .Registry.Local Machine;

object res = rk.GetValue("a" );

byte[] mybinaryvalue = (byte[])res;

What is the easiest .net method to read a REG_BINARY value from the registry? I'm using a ManagementClass from the System.Management namespace and can retrieve string values using GetMethodParameter("GetStringValue") but can't find the method for binary, the MSDN documentation is terrible and doesn't provide a list of possible parameters. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

Hi, I need to convert a Binary value to Decimal. I've been told that the value is an unsigned one. How can I do this? I use memcpy into an unsigned char variable, but when I print the value I got a negative value. For example if I'm using the xd -c (Unix) on the file, I can see the value FFFFFFFFFFFFFFA2 which using the memcpy as described above I get -94. But the real value that I'd expect to get is a positive one.

Greetings, I've been up and down google on this one and clearly I don't know what search terms to use because I can't locate how to do this for binary values (or hex)... in C#, we can specify a floating value by saying 0.0f and a hex number by saying x = 0xFF10 but how do we specify a binary constant? I thought it might be something like x = %1010101; but I honestly can't figure out what it might be or how to locate it in the help...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
