Treeview Node Databinding

ESP
Ok,

so, say I have a database table with a text field and an ID (key)
field, perhaps like manufacturer and manufacturerID

Now using a dataadapter etc I can pull the data into a dataset/table

I can then use a tree view for example to display this information
mainly because each node can have a TEXT and a TAG value, so i can set
the text to the manufacturer name from the database and the TAG to
manufacturerID. thats fine...

But lets say I pull a product from a related table that is related by
manufacturerID, how can i databind the Treeview nodes to the
manufacturerid of the product so that the manufacturers name appears
selected in the treeview?

Is there a better control for doing this with? Remember i can only get
the manufacturerID from the product table but need to display the
manufacturers name selected....

Thanks,

Hello, When building a Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.TreeView with multiple XML files, all of the databound nodes of the tree are not loaded at once. When the TreeNodeSrc property is set for a TreeNode element, the contents of the node aren't actually bound to the XML source until the node is expanded. So, if the expanded node is bound to its data source(have TreeNodeSrc attribute) all its children are downloaded and rendered.

In asp.net 1.1, the IE treeview web control has a property called "SelectExpands" that, when set to true, expands a node when a user clicks the node text. I can't seem to replicate this in the treeview control in .net 2.0. Anyone know of way to expand a node when a users clicks the node text?

In a previous version of vb I used to save and load hierarchical data from an Access db into a treeview. But, I never found a very satisfying or elegant way to do it. I used a flat file approach with each item having a reference to its parent node. I would then start by loading the top level nodes folowed by loading child node data only as their parent node was expanded. This method worked fairly well except that allowing the user to...

Hi all I have a treeview bound to a sitemap. Once the user is logged in, I'm wanting the menu to expand to include additional items from a database while retaining the items in the sitemap. Is this possible. For example. My menu has an item called "Books" defined in the sitemap. Once the user logs in, I want sub menu-items to be created under books with all

Is there any way you can expand a parent node on the treeview control _without a postback_ by clicking on the node text (NOT clicking the expand image URL) ? I want to format the treeview node to look like a column of buttons that expand to show the child nodes (if there are child nodes) qithout a postback. I don't want to display the plus/minus or any other expand/collapse graphic. ?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
