Exam 70-315: Developing Web Applications with Visual C#.NET

Hello,

I'm currently preparing for the exam 70-315. I'm using the Self-paced
training kit "Developing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C#.NET", but
I find it rather difficult.
I have programming experience in Lotus Notes and I have developped several
'basic' websites, but .NET and C# are totally new to me.
I wonder if it is realistic to take the examen without actually have
practical experience with Visual C#.NET.

Please some feedback and ideas

hi Tina,

Practical experience always adds to your efforts.
might find it easier if you have faced issue while writing code.

Tina,

I can imagine it would be difficult without the C# and .NET framework
experience.

I would suggest that you plan on going beyond the examples in the book and
try to devise more complicated applications. I would also suggest you take a
look at the Que book (ISBN 0-7897-2822-2) which covers the subject in more
detail. By trying to complete more real world applications, you will be
forced into looking at the detail involved in .NET programming, that these
books can often gloss over.

Assuming you have reasonable existing software experience, I would reckon on
four to eight weeks to do this, followed by a final week of revision using
the books.

HTH,
Chris.

This message makes no comment on your abilities.

I would hope that it is extremely difficult, not to say virtually
impossible, to pass the exam without practical experience. Otherwise, it's
not really a worthwhile exam, IMHO.

All the Best

I'm currently taking an online class for SQL Server which is aimed at teaching you the information you need to pass exam #70-229. However, concerns exists on my part on how good this web based class really is. Is there a good book out there that anyone would recommend getting for additional study? I would prefer one that had questions at the end of each chapter that are geared towards the exam, or something like that. Also, the class...

It seems that the official book and course for the 70-316 MCSD exam is covering far fewer details than are required to pass the MeasureUp pre-test. Is this really true, and what can I do about it? How can I best fill in all the required details that the MeasureUp pre-test for MCSD 70-316 requires? Does the MeasureUp pre-test cover far more details than the actual MCSD 70-316 exam?

Im going to be looking to do this exam fairly soon, but ive done a couple of practice tests and found them to be a bit tricky in as much as you have to REALLY READ the questions carefully else they trip you up. When you have four multi choice and each one has 8 lines of code, its like looking at those damn near identicle picture and spotting the difference. Its almost as if they expect you to have an on line help in your head !! How...

I'm studying for the Microsoft .NET 2.0 Application development foundation exam. I just finished the 1000 page study guide cover-2-cover doing all examples. My first try I failed the practice test that came w/ the book miserably with a 51. I took it again and got a 58. I'm going through all 302 questions right now and I am highly discouraged as to how most questions are terribly similar and figuring out the answer requires you remember...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
