Word automation HTML printing

I read the MS article on Word Object and coded as implied.

I instantiate a Word app: Word.Applicatio n app = new Word.Applicatio n();

Then Open a HTML document: (I’ve tried all Opens, OLD, 2000..):

app.Documents.O pen(ref fileName, ref missingValue, ref myTrue,
ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue,
ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue,
ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue,
ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue);

The third parameter is to make the process run in the background.

Then I set app.Visible = false; just to make sure the user does not see the
Word app.

I then do a print with the first parameter set to ‘background†™. (I’ve tried
all PrintOuts)

app.PrintOut(re f myTrue, ref myFalse, ref range,
ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref items, ref copies,
ref pages, ref pageType, ref myFalse, ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref
missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref missingValue, ref
missingValue, ref missingValue);

No matter what I do the Word application is visible to the user. And every
time I use it to print it spawns another Word. What could I be possibly doing
wrong, according to the MS article it’s very straight forward.

This is the only methodology that I’ve found to programmaticall y print HTML
documents. Any one have any suggestions?

I wrote a program in VC++ that generates a text file report. I would like to get this report data into a word document that my company uses. I could use bookmarks for reference in the document. Is there some boiler plate code for C++ or VC++ that I could use to edit and add my data to the bookmark locations in the MS Word doc file? After I have updated the MS Word file I need to print it to a network printer. Is there a easy way of...

Hi, My client has asked me to provide a "quick and dirty" way to export the contents of a DataGrid to both Excel for analysis and Word for editing and printing, so I'm investigating client-side automation. N.B. the environment is a totally enclosed intranet, all the client machines have WinXP, IE6 and Office Pro 2003 with all the latest SPs, and the IE security settings are sufficient to allow the Local Intranet Zone to instantiate...

I've been building an application that will merge fields in a text file with a word template, save the resulting word file out to the user's hard drive, and then email the file as an attachment. The problem I'm having is that I can't delete the word file I saved at the end of the process due to the file being locked by the email process. It appears to take longer than the code takes to complete due to virus checking software that...

I have a vb.net winforms application that loops through several thousand word documents and prints them, with the filenames being read from a SQL database. I am using late bound code to load MS Word. I have tried loading Word for each document, printing the doc, and exiting Word. I have also tried loading Word for 100 documents at a time, exiting Word, and reloading Word for the next 100 documents. I have tried many scenarios. Around...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
