Beta Readers Wanted - Whidbey C# - (O'Reilly Author)

This is a one time request for beta-readers for a new book I'm working on.

*************

I'm writing a new book on Visual C# 2.0 - target audience is C# 1.x
programmers looking to move up to 2.0 (code-name Whidbey).

The ideal candidates have been programming in Visual C# 1.x for a while, are
familiar with and comfortable with all the language fundamentals, delegates,
creating windows and web applications and so forth and are ready to learn
what is new in Visual Studio and C# 2.0, as well as highlights of what is
new in creating Windows and Web Applications.

I will post the chapters after I've written them but before they've been
edited or tech-reviewed. Your job will be to provide guidance and advice as
to how helpful the chapter is, what is missing, what could be clearer, etc.

You can expect to read (and respond to) about 40-50 pages per week through
Thanksgiving; starting next week. Ideally, you'll have the Visual Studio
2.0 Beta installed on a computer and will be able to try the exercises,
though this is not strictly required.

There is no financial compensation (though active participants will receive
a copy of the book when it is published, and an acknowledgement in the book
itself). You will need to sign a Non-disclosure agreement and you'll need to
join a forum on Delphi (membership is free).

If you are interested, please send me email (jl******@Liber tyAssociates.co m)
with your name, email, C# experience, etc.

Thank you.

It is not a forum on the Delphi language per se, have a look. Delphi is just
the name of the forum.

Im at a loss on where to proceed next. I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a managed C++ DLL is basically a thin wrapper around several unmanaged classes. This DLL builds fine. In my main C# application I have setup a project reference to this DLL. Im able to reference these managed .DLL classes from within my code without problem.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, if not please direct me to the correct place. I have an application that I was developing, then decided to publish it as a click once app. It was placed on the web site using the publish command. When going to download it and install, if 2.0 .net isn't installed the link is a Setup.exe, but if 2.0 is already the link is to a ApplicationName.Application. So here is the issue, when I have...

Hi. We're in the process of updating the O'Reilly book "Programming ASP.NET" for version 2.0. We would like help from alpha readers to review the chapters before they are submitted to the editor. Typically you'll have about 1 week to read the chapter and comment on its content. The target audience 1.1 ASP.NET programmers moving to 2.0 and Classic HTML and non-ASP.NET programmers making the plunge to ASP.NET.

I am writing a new book on Visual Basic 2005, targeted at VB6 programmers, and to some degree VB.NET 1.x programmers. I'd like to sign up a (limited) number of volunteers to read the book and provide feedback. To participate you would... 1. Sign a non-disclosure agreement 2. Read each chapter in Word format and mark it up and return it within a week of receipt 3. Be open honest and direct, providing feedback about the content and...

jliberty@LibertyAssociates.com] I'm looking for a few additional volunteers to help with preliminary review of a new book I'm writing on Visual Basic 2005. You will be asked to read about 25 chapters (each 25-35 pages) and to respond to them within a few days of their posting (that is a very demanding requirement). I'm looking for feedback on issues such as "does this make sense" and "does this cover the topic" rahter than punctuation...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
