I'm trying to do some ADO MD programming (ADO.NET MD isn't out yet). I'm
hitting two errors which seem to be separate issues so I've posted them
in separate threads.
The app seems to run on my local machine but when I run on a remote
system, I get a dialog box error followed by the error text at the end
of this message. This is happening at load time. Even if I don't pass
any command line parameters so the app should simply quit immediately,
the same error occurs.
The compiler outputs "Interop.ADOMD. dll". From what I understand, these
are shim libraries and are necessary to access COM libraries through
..NET wrappers. I copied this to the remote system of course. But why is
there only one of these shim libraries? Shouldn't there be a second for
straight ADO?

One of the disadvantages of using error handling with error codes
instead of exception handling is that error codes retuned from a
function can be forgotten to check thus leading to
unexpected run-time problems. Exceptions on the other hand can not be
simply ignored.
In order to solve this error codes problem I suggest using error object
instead of error codes.
Each function has to return an error object that stores an error
