I have been trying to enable/use specific OpenSSL extensions that I use in
generating certificates manually, via PHP5 + php5-openssl
module/extension.
Filling out the "configargs" array with 'x509_extensions' and/or
'req_extensions' fails to generate/sign a certificate with the desired
X.509 extensions included in the signed certificate. The extensions in my
"openssl.cnf" file work just fine with manual OpenSSL commands.
Also, I am...

Hello,
I want to retrieve the details of an SSL certificate of HTTPS
websites, using openSSL, running on Windows 2003. This works fine as
follows:
openssl s_client www.somewebsite.com:443 > cert.txt
In order to close the openSSL connection to the HTTPS website, I have
to manually type "quit" + enter.

Hello everyone!
I wrote a simple perl program to encrypt a string using
Crypt::OpenSSL::RSA.
Everything as described in the module documentation. The public key
is a valid X.509 encrypted certificate.
When I tried executing the code I get the following error:

Hello,
I'm currently trying the OpenSSL Library, but I got some problems. I
want to create a server and client application that communicate
through the OpenSSL API, but this code doesn't work.
I tried to understand the error messages but for me they aren't
useful. And now I'm here and hope that somebody has experience and can
tell me the error.
This is the Code for the server:
#define _CRT_SECURE_NO_DEPRECATE

I run Apache 2.0.55, and Php (both 4.4.1 and 5.2.5) on my home PC

open the file.
However, when I run Php5 I (now) get this error message:
"Unable to find the wrapper "https" - did you forget to enable it when
you configured PHP?"
This is new. Last time I messed with this, I merely got:

Hi folk,
I'm trying to install latest OpenSSL version in VS2008 Express Edition
on WinXP. I have downloaded and installed the redistributable for VC+
+2008 (including SP1), and also installed the latest version of pre-compiled
version of OpenSSL from /www.shininglightpro.com/products/
Win32OpenSSL.html website. So AFAIK there is no need for Perl script
compilation and NASM, MASM issue as long as I have the pre-compiled
binaries. If I'm...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
