I am having difficulty in diagnosing this problem and was throwing it out
for some other eyes.
I have derived my own Page class from System.Web.UI.Page and have overridden
the LoadViewState method. I derive all of my application pages from my own
Page.
For some reason on two of my pages the LoadViewState derived method is not
firing and thus not setting up some of my controls on the page. On the
other 240 ish pages, the...

I've found what seems to be a nasty bug in the DataGrid and Repeater
classes. If CreateChildControls gets called before LoadViewState,
ViewState fails to map and you end up with nothing on a Postback.
Please try the following test, and let me know if you can reproduce
this:
- Create a custom DataGrid or Repeater class that does nothing but
derive from one of the above and gives a place to put breakpoints in
overriden handlers
- Create...

Okay, I am probably missing something simple so here is my problem.
I have a page. On this page I have a usercontrol. On this user control I
have another usercontrol. On each usercontrol I override the LoadViewState
and SaveViewState methods.
Now, the first time the page loads (non postback) the SaveViewState methods
for both fire. When the form posts back, I would expect the LoadViewState
to fire for both, but instead the only one...

Hello,
I have overrided the LoadViewState function in my
webform. However when the page postsback the function is
never called. Here is how I overrided it.
Protected Overloads Sub LoadViewState(ByVal SavedState As
Object)
Response.Write("LWS: " & ViewState("Stores"))
CreateColumns()

In case you are creating your own control dynamically and need
to re-create them on LoadViewState, only to discover that this
function is not being called by the framework, reason and
solution is this:
The LoadViewState function is called by the framework only when
the viewstate object is not null (pretty reasonable).
In the above scenario, SaveViewState might not need to save
anything in the viewstate object, leaving the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
