Hello-
I have a python routine (Python 2.2.3 on Windows 2000 "Professional") using
a socket connection. Problem is, the backend service I'm connecting to will
hang every so often and the socket will simply wait for a response which
will never come. I'm thinking of putting in a routine to check the socket's
status, which now brings in threading. Before I go to the trouble I thought
I'd ask if there is a simple way to verify my socket...

I've got a simple problem I guess. How do I know when a connection is
terminated without losing any data?
I do something like the code below, but sometimes between
socket.Receive and socket.Send I get the last chunk of data and am not
able to retrieve it anymore cause the socket will be dead.

I am makeing a Multicast server client setup and was wondering what the
difference is between Socket.Connect, and Socket.Bind.
It may be a stupid question, but I was just curious. Because I tried a
test, and I can't bind two sockets to the same port/ip but I can
connect with one socket, and bind with another to the same ip/port.

I have a working php TCP/IP server socket bound to a port >1023 and the flash client will not even connect to it. I can connect to it with non-xml client.
