Hello,
I am trying to find a way to tell if an .NET windows forms Button
(System.Windows.Forms.Button) is "depressed" (pushed down). For my
application, I can not use a check box control set to button style, I
must use a System.Windows.Forms.Button. I can not find a way to tell
when it is momentaraly pressed.
I tried calling the API SendMessage with the button handle and
BM_GETSTATE to get the state of the button. This will only return...

Hi NG,
i encountered a problem during developing some activex control with c#.
I read an article that it is possible to expose windows forms as
activex controls. So I tried it and it worked really great!
Here is the link to the article:
http://www.codeproject.com/cs/miscctrl/exposingdotnetcontrols.asp
Testing the newly created control with the Testcontainer for ActiveX
Controls showed no problems.

I've converted a VB6 project to VB.Net 2005. (Actually using vstudio pro
2005).
I'm on a machine that also has VB6 and Vstudio.net 2003 on it. The project
uses Word, Excel, MapPoint and SqlClient (database is SqlServer 2000). OS is
WinXP SP2.
When I run the project, it opens the MDI form (MdiMain.vb) fine, but when I
open one of the child forms and try to select something in a combo box
(cboFilter2) it stops on a line of the...

I am trying to figure out how to pass set of credentials to System.IO
Challenge is:
App is running under one set of credentials, but via GUI user have a chance
to enter another set. I would like to be able to use supplied credentials
with System.IO versus using default credentials that app is running under.
So far I am forced to use WMI which is less convenient and slower then
System.IO, but it's providing me with "Connection Options"

Hi,
I am wondering why the .NET Framework is quite different from Win32 API when
it comes to displaying system modal message boxes.
Consider the four following types of system modal message boxes (please see
associated source code below):
1) Win32 API with context ("btnWin32WithContext_Click")
2) .NET Framework with context ("btnFrameworkWithContext_Click")
3) Win32 API withOUT context ("btnWin32WithOUTContext_Click")

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
