I have looked and looked and not found the answer to this one - just
lots of references to this or that "hack" that is supposed to fix the
problem (and it is a problem to some people).
If I have a div specified and want it to reach across the full width
of the browser window, it doesn't. There is an approximately 10-pixel
margin on either end of the div. I can "fix" this by setting my left
and right margins to -10px, but by doing so, I...

Hi,
I have a project that is both an explorer band and a BHO. I'm using WISE to
take a snapshot of the system after I do a "regasm" followed by a "regasm
/codebase". Running this on a system gets it all set up, but unfortunately,
the installer (which needs to work system-wide, so anything in %APPDATA% and
HKCU are ignored) doesn't seem to set things up properly when I run on a
different system. The BHO works fine, but the explorer...

Dear group,
I created an aspx page using System.Diagnostics.Process() to launch
"tracert" from shell and redirect output to Response.Output which
prints it as text/plain into my browsers window. Now that works fine
so far. My problem is that while tracert process is running and ASP
..NET is putting data into the pages output stream, my webapplication
is locked until tracert process exits. How can I stop locking my
application and be...

Here's what I'm thinking about so far, wonder if anyone's been down this road before and can offer advice if I'm going the right direction or not.
untested - pending permissions to initiate traceroute from server
#!/usr/bin/perl -w

I've been viewing this NG in my browser (both IE & Firefox) for years
& never had a problem.
However, off-late during the past 1 year, at times I get a thick 2-
inch-wide vertical band on the left side of the page containing the
foll information: Discussions, About this group, Subscribe to this
group, Active older topics, Related Groups, etc.
This makes it very difficult for me to read the messages posted.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
