Scrollar update of RichTextBox.

Hi

Drop a RichTextBox (rtb) on a form, anchor it to the edges or dock it to fill the entire form - whatever you choose the rtb control works fine and updates its scrollbars according to the new sizes. Now, instead of dropping it on a form, drop it on a panel with dock-property set to fill, ancor the rtb to the panel or let it fill out the panel. Now the vertical scrollbar doesn't behave as one would expect when the panelsize is changes, only when you make the panel bigger the scrollbars of the rtb is updated correctly, but when you make the panel smaller the rtb is not correctly updated. Is this an error (I guess not) or what do i have to do to - wheres the missing link - I've tried .Invalidate and .Update - neither works. - please help

Best regards Jesper
Denmark.

Suppose I have a .Net C# Winforms App with a RichTextBox control and I want to provide an option for the user to open the Rtf in Word, edit it in Word and get the edited value back to my C# app dynamically (not with an external file). Where should I start? Is there a document explaining this? I read msdn but I did not see exactly what I am looking for thanks,

I have a C# MDI app. The child forms do alot of work, so this work is perfomed on a different thread created using ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(). Because the status of the work is important to the user, I post the results in a richTextBox on the child form. I have created an event to do this since it is best to update the controls using the thread that they were created with (or so I've read). Anyway, the first time the user selects a...

I want to react to scrolls in a RichTextBox (I want to let the user know when he has changed to a new printable page.) I have handled the VScroll() event, but that only responds to scrollbar clicks. If the user slides the "thumb", I seem to get no indication. Anyone know how to get notified of the thumb slide from a RichTextBox? I can derive from RichTextBox and trap messages if need be, but I have not been able to figure out what to...

Hi, I'm trying to record the text value of a RichTextBox after handling a KeyPressEvent (each time the user types a char). But what I'm seeing is that the value of rtb.Text is equal to the value of the contents of the RichTextBox prior to the event being triggered. For Example, here's the code: Sub x ... AddHandler rtb.KeyPress, AddressOf CellEvent_KeyPress

I've got a problem with the RichTextBox control in .Net where the garbage collector doesn't reclaim its memory after I've finished with it. My program adds a series of rtb's to the control array of a panel to make a basic text editor. When the form that the panel is on is closed these rtb's are still in memory. If you want to see the probelm try this: create a form which has a panel on it. Create a class,

At the moment i am trying to write into a richtextbox using the Rtf call from another richtextbox. However realising that richtextbox do not have multithreading - i know i need to invoke this item and make it multithreaded safe. But i cannot find a single good example of how to do this. The richtextbox i am trying to update is on one form - the richtextbox which has the information to update it with is on another. I understand that i...

Inserting text into a RichTextBox is a snap! >> textBox1.Text += "Enter string 0000\n"; textBox1.Text += "Enter string 0001\n"; textBox1.Text += "Enter string 0002\n"; textBox1.Text += "Enter string 0003\n"; How do I then go back and programmatically remove let's say line #2? As amazingly simple as this sounds ... I am equally dumbfounded by not

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
