I have a question.. I am using remoting but on my client side I chose to use
an interface. As a result I was wondering if its still possible to place the
configuration details into a xml config file ?
I have not seen any examples of this does anyone know how I can do this ?
All I've seen are example such as below where an interface calling the
server as such. but I would like to not use this and instead call the config
file as its easily...

I have a Form class that can be open by parent Form or by .NET Remoting
command.
When the parent Form opens the Form - All fine !
But when the .NET Remoting command is trying to Show the Form, the Form
stuck !! I tried to change the Remoting delegate invocation to asynchronous
and to synchronous, yet both cause the same Form Show() to stuck.
When I mean stuck, I mean the the Form is shown but non of it controls are
shown, only gray window...

I'd just like a sanity check on my thinking. I'm attempting to create
a progress bar for a file upload to an ASPX page. I'm adding an HTTP
Module, which would then call into a "Progress Handler", a remoting
object created as a singleton object, which would keep track of all
file uploads by an id. Does this make sense?
I haven't seen this implementation of a progress bar mentioned
anywhere. Am I missing something? Thanks for the...

I have a simple remote server object that raises an event when the list
maintined by it changes. The idea is to enable the remote client to
update the GUI when the server list changes. When the I create the
server object without using remoting (i.e. just use new()) the event
fires and the client updates the UI but when I create the server object
as a remote object (using Activator.GetObject()) the event does not
fire at all. I have pasted...

I have a simple test case using a remote object. When I run with
server and client on the same PC everything works fine. When I run
the client on another PC, the remote object works, but when the client
program is exited then the server crashes with an access violation
writing location 0x00000000.
Why would the server crash upon closing the client program (only when
the client is on another PC)???
Any suggestions on how to prevent...

I have built numerous Windows Services over the years, but until this
point, I have never needed a GUI to interact with them. Right now, I
have a Windows Service that runs FTP backup jobs. I want to build an
interface so that the server administrator can add/edit/delete backup
jobs. I have come to the conclusion that Remoting is the way to go.
I am having trouble finding a good example to achieve my goal. I have
seen examples in .NET 1.0...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
