I am having difficulty performing updates and deletions
on an Access database using the Update() method of the
OleDBDataAdapter. I can insert rows without a problem,
but I get a concurrency exception when trying to update
or delete.
I am quite sure that no concurrency conflicts actually
exist. Is there a reason why the data adapter I am using
may have a different row version that the database that
it got its data from?

I have a requirement that requires detection of rows deleted/updated by
other processes. My business objects call stored procedures to create,
read, update, delete data in a SQL Server 2000 data store. I've done
a fair amount of research on concurrency handling in newsgroups and
other resources. Below is what I've come up as a standard for
handling concurrency thru stored procedures. I am sharing with everyone
so I can get some comments...

Visual Studio 2003 .Net / C# / SQL 2000
I am trying to work out the best way to ensure data concurrency in my
application. All updates and inserts etc are done via stored procedures.
When a user enters a screen i call a stored procedure which returns me a
record or many records and display them in my screen. When they insert a
record I just call a stored procedure passing over all the screen values, and
the same with updating records. ...

Can anyone give me any advice on catching data concurrency errors? I
want to amend the code below so that if the record to be amended has
already changed since it was taken from the table, the error will be
trapped and the code will go into a loop where it continues trying to
update the value until it finds that the record has not been amended
since it was taken from the table, and so can successfully update.
SqlConnection...

Is it possible for a Dataset that is added to a C# project to be based on a
stored Procedure?
Can I use either a OracleClient or Microsoft Oracle Client?
Any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to test for concurrency, using a SQL Stored Procedure on a
RowVersion (timestamp) Field. The vb code I'm using is as follows
Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("ConcurrencyCheck", cn)
Dim intID as integer = MyDataset.Tables("MyTable").Rows(0).Item("ID")
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
cmd.Parameters.Add("@ReturnValue", SqlDbType.Int)
cmd.Parameters(0).Direction = ParameterDirection.ReturnValue
cmd.Parameters.Add("@ID",...

I have the following situation in a VB.Net App I am working on:
1.)A report created in VS.Net 2003 using the CR.Net component of VS 2003.
2.)The datasource for the report is a Stored Proc in a SQL Server DB (pull
method).
3.)The Stored Proc has two input parameters of type date.
4.)The Stored Proc is a rather complex proc that was not written by me, but
does work(see next item). It currently returns about 13K rows of data.
5.)The...

In my save code, most of items save fine. But sometimes I get a concurrency
violation message.
"Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1
records."
It happens on the same records each time - once this happens, it never saves
ok again.
The immediate window also has states:
A first chance exception of type 'System.Data.DBConcurrencyException'
occurred in System.Data.dll

Hi ppl,
Sorry for asking such a NEWBIE question. I tried looking for answers but
cant find. Maybe its too easy. :(
I'm used to manual code ADO rather than this .NET wizard and stuff... and i
am really having hard time adjusting. *cry*
I need to fill a dataadapter with data from a stored procedure. I figured
how to create the dataadapter and link it to my database, but my stored proc
needs INPUT parameters. Can i set a default value...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
