How to access fields in methods using Reflection

djp
Hi,

I'm trying to access fields that are local to a method using reflection.
What BindingFlags value should I use and is this possible at all. So far I
was able to retreive class fields only.

Thanks

Perhaps I don't understand. If the field is local to the method, why
use reflection? Just use the field.

Up until now I have been using OR Mapping tools for my database access. I liked this approach because with one line of code I could bind my form fields to my objects and then persist them. The SQL code for update and insert was generated instrinsically. Now I need to use more 'mainstream' methods of data manipulation but am becoming a little frustrated. If i wish to insert some data submitted by a form, I need to append the contents...

Hi! Is it possible to access fields in a derived class using reflection? Code below works fine when I access it as a private member in the Page class, but not when accessing base class member through an interface reference. I have tried to change the snd argement to SetAttribute method from 'Name', 'set_Name' to '_name'. That doesn't seem to be the problem. I

Hi all, Using reflection, I can invoke/call private methods of an object. is this intended? if yes, why? in what scenario (example would be good) should I be givven the option to use something that was declared private (not public) and not mine to use? seems to me this is somewhat malicious... if not.... well....

Kind of an open question on best-practice for smart-client design. I'd really appreciate anyones views (preferably with reasoning, but I'll take what I get...). Or if anybody has any useful links on the subject? (and yes, I have already googled it at length, but still no strong decision) ============= After a long stint of pure-desktop / pure-server applications, I'm currently working on a number of smart-client projects in C# using...

While I know this is not the correct venue... I realize this is of little to no importance to most out there... however, if I had found this in my initial searches, I would have used this. So, as an alternative to the mentalis.org's IniReader, I submit the following files to the web news group DBs...: @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Hi I have a user control that is designed as below. I am creating these User Controls Dynamically in another form. They are multiple types of User Controls all with a common Interface so I can use a Factory to create them all in a generic way. The problem is that if I create a IMyInterface - I cannot access the derived UserControl Methods. I need to access the Methods derived from UserControl and also the Interface

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
