Hi - I think I'm getting very tied up here. Using Web Matrix, and have
posted in the asp.net forum, with no help unfortunately.
I have a table, which has a parent/child relationship with itself.
It has an id, fldparentid, fldquestion field.
I want to show the fields where the fldparentid is the same as the value
returned when someone clicks on the ros in my datagrid, in the function:
gridCategory_SelectedIndexChanged.

This may be a very simple question but I'm stumped none the less.
I have a form where a user provides comments. There's a Grid below this
form which displays all comments in the table so far. On the Page_Load sub,
this grid is loaded. When they submit the form, a SaveComments Sub will
insert the record into a table and then disable the button and textbox
(greyed out) and display a message in a asp:label saying "thank you...".
The last...

Greetings.
I have a serious problem. I have multiple sets of tables, several of
which are chained more than two tables deep. That is, I have a parent, a
child, and a great-grandchild table.
Currently, I am allowing the parent to be edited by itself. In order to
get to a child table, a user needs to select a specific parent table ID.
I have set this up using panels, and putting a drop-down list in the
first panel, with its contents...

I am having no problems connecting to a DB, creating a DataAdapter,
and creating a dataset...and connecting to the data. Using the
builtin data objects to do all this.
My only problem now is navigating through the data. I can get the
data into a datagrid without any problems, but I want the data to show
up in textboxes and use some sort of move next, move previous, move
last, etc (like in VB6) command to navigate the data (using...

I have a data grid called Files, which has some columns like FileName, Col1,
Col2, ... , Col8. Then i have a combobox which allows user to select from
Col1 to Col8 and based on this selection, i generate a report from data in
grid Files.
It displays like (e.g. is Col1 is selected):
Col1 Count
----------------------
Val1 x
Val2 y

Hi,
We are working on a gridview inside the gridview (parent-child) scenario.
The data of child grid will depend on the data of parent.
Objectives:
1.Add new row in parent grid after each row and add child grid into that row
because the columns in child grid are same as parent grid and we want to
align them with the cols of parent grid.
2. If there is data for child grid we show a plus image in the parent row
(in the row above the...

VS 2005
I' m setting up a parent/child datagridviews in a form.
I am doing a lot of this by hand coding in order to get the feel of things.
I want a change in the parent table to trigger a change in the child.
Where is the best place (if I cannot set it up to be automatic through
relationships) to catch the change in the parent to refetch the child rows?

Hi
I have a problem with two textboxes binded to a dataset, based on paren
table, and table for the child records.
I can navigate between the master records (and of course the child records
are changed according to the datarelation), but when I try to add a new
record, and then try to navigate between master records, the child records
are noot changing.
Does anyone have a solution?

Hi
I am trying to sort the child table.
Here's the complete scenario. I have used web services to get values in the data set. There are 2 tables T1 and T2 for data sets and they have a parent child relationship . T1 is parent and T2 is the child. Now I am retrieving all the values of T1 in grid 1( using dataviews) and T2 (child)( Also using dataviews)will contain only the values associated with T1(Parent). I have used data binding for that and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
