Error while calling COM+ DLL in C#

hi there,

I have a C# DLL compiled in VS.NET 2002. Within this I
have a method that returns a dataset to the client
application.

As a client application, I have a C# windows service, also
compiled in VS.NET 2002. Now within this when I call the
method of DLL for dataset to be returned, I get the
following error

System.InvalidC astException: Return argument has an
invalid type. at
System.Runtime. Remoting.Proxie s.RealProxy.Val idataReturnArg
(Object arg, Type paramType) at
System.Runtime. Remoting...etc. .

any solution?? i shall be grateful to you.
Thanks,
irfan

My php logs are coming up empty. I have done all I can think of, and all that made sense to me. Can someone take a look at my php.ini please and tell me what you think may be the problem. I double-checked the path to my error log. It is in /var/www/logs/php_error_log Thanks. :) -Wayne Stevenson

I've written several Java stored procedures now (DB2 V7.2) and I'd like to write down a few "best practices" for reference so that I will have them handy for future development. Would the experts here agree with the following? Would they add any other points? 1. If the shop standard calls for logging of application errors, a stored procedure should log any error that it encounters immediately upon detecting it and then return to the...

Here is some code to generate code for raising and getting information about custom errors in an application. Executing the GenerateXyzErrDefs procedure generates the code. <tblXyzError> ErrorCodeOffset (Long Int) ErrorObjBaseName (Text(50)) ErrorDescription (Text(255)) 1 DontDoThat Hey! Don't do that!

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to generate standard error handlers that "know" if the calling code has an error handler in effect (On Error Goto <label> or On Error Resume Next) before deciding how to respond. Does anyone know if this is possible.

i am trying to write aspx login system and the login process requires a validity check of username and password. i have been told that raising exception is costly, but i want a custom error message to be displayed depending on what error occurred (let's say: invalid username, invalid password, password must contain 5 or more characters, etc). at the moment, my login method is returning true/false depending on whether the login was...

I'm unsure how best to handle errors in the scenario below! Say I have a class Employee that handles everything about employees. The class has two properties "id" and "name", and on procedure "create" that simply inserts a new employee into the database. Any error I'd like to show to the user. But how do I make an error that occurs in the class display in the code that calls the class? Should I have try catch in both the class...

Hi guys, Basically i have been developing in dotnet for a couple of years but ive had a few issues in regards to error handling. For example - I have a class that i call passing in a stored procedure and connection string as a path. My method returns a dataset. In my SP i have an output parameter which tells me whether the SP select is successful or not. If i get a error code passed back then i throw an exception this then returns...

Hi Everyone, I've created a 'C' dll that is accessed via ctypes library containing a bunch of functions. I've successfully been able to use the functions. However, I would like to throw python exceptions from some of them. I throw them using: ::PyErr_SetString(::PyExc_RuntimeError, theErrorString); I crash the console when this function is invoked in the 'C' domain. I

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
