Hi All!
I want to clear the string contents from sensitive information
such as passwords, and etc.
It's always a case that password will appear as string at some point
or another. And i feel uneasy leaving it hanging in memory indefinitely
(especially in case when string is Interned).
So at leats for the case when string is not interned i propose:

I posted a related problem today. The problem is this:
string str1 = @"""";
When I execute this code (even in a bare bones application), in the
IDE it returns "\"""
Why? Even in the immediate window it return this. Anywhere where I
attempt to use two apostrophes, it inserts a backslash. Even a
function in one method that saves its string to a file shows that the

I've a really strange problem, in some part of my code I compare two
strings (through object), and while I *know* that they equal each
other, and in the watch window they do equal each other, then the
comparision return false.
See here for details:

Hi,
I am having few .net source files(.cs or .vb) and I want to dynamically generate the corresponding .net project file(.csproj or .vbproj) for them without using visual studio. So that I could be able to generate and compile the project on the enviroments where Visual Studio.Net is not installed.
Thanks and Regards,

In the past I always used "" everywhere for empty string in my code
without a problem.
Now, do you think I should use String.Empty instead of "" (at all
times) ?
Let me know your thoughts.

Hi... I am working on a simple program (in VB.net) that will grab the
values of elements out of an XML file that are tagged as
"databasePath"... My program works, but I am getting too many
results. I need to limit the scope of the program to only include the
string value from the element that has a parent of "numberone", and
not both "numberone" and "numbertwo". I don't know if "numberone" is
a node, or what the correct term for it is...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
