Hello everyone,
I have a vb.net application that wraps the TCPListener object
in a class. The server connects to the local interface and establishes
itself on port 9900. It then polls for pending connections every 500ms.
I also have a vb6 application that uses the WinSock control at the other end
of the communication tunel. I have to work with vb6 here because it uses
less memory than .NET.

I've written a fair amount of sockets code using the Winsock2 API, but I am having some trouble converting to the .Net Sockets API, specifically asynchronous sockets.
What I have is a form that is both a client and a server. When the form starts I create a listening socket and call Socket.BeginAccept(). When a client connects my accept function is called, and it is on a separate thread. After I accept the client connection I connect to...

I've got a client/server app that I used to send large amounts of data via
UDP to the client. We use it in various scenarios, one of which includes
rendering a media file on the client as it is transferred via the underlying
UDP transport. In this scenario it is very important to keep CPU usage as
low as possible.
Both the client and server were originally written in C++, but I've
re-written the client in C#, partly to simplify it, but...

Is it possible to input values into a web form from an external source
like a client-side javascript?
There is a web site that I'm viewing where I have to enter 5 values in
the form. 4 of the values don't change only one input field does. Is
it possible to create a javascript to run which would popluate the
non-changing values by executing the script or by pressing a button on
the script?
No experience at this so any examples would...

I am playing a Windows Media File which is protected by their DRM. I want
to be able to automatically fill in the form asking for payment with my
saved parameters. Is there any way to do this? Note, this is not on the
web - this is a desktop app that has an embedded player or using
mciSendString to play the file.
Thanx in advance,
Anil Gupte

Don't laugh lol I know your all php guru's : )
Ok, so I have little if any knowledge with the programming language php
- only having created small enquiry forms. Now I have a client that
needs a job order form with a little more function than having solely
contact details and a big enquiry text area.
The form I created in HTML is located at
http://www.ebesign.co.nz/projects/justfixit/job_order_form.html
and has used javascript to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
