David's Plan for next weekend?

Good evening :),

I got out this afternoon and tried to get a bit of X-mas shopping done
and a few other things taken care of...not a whole lot of luck,
though...tons of people doing the same thing I was. But I just got in a bit
ago.
I take it you are still in a hotel this weekend? I hate that...I was
really hoping you would be home this weekend. But oh well, you have to do
what you have to do, I guess...:)
I am not what you would call ultra computer techy at all...but I do
like to read about what the latest stuff is out there...My dad and several
of my friends are all working in the IT field, and very good at it, so I
sort of hear about it alot through them. I pick up a bunch listening to them
all talk about it.
What city are you in this weekend? Any plans tonight or are you
staying in?
The Masters I have been to as a person covering it...but the great
thing about it is...since Network covers it, you really don't hae a lot of
things to do past 3 o'clock. And since most of the leaders don't get out
until late int he morning, it is like a vacation for the week. You get to
watch a lot and work a little...Only during 5-6:30pm does it really get
busy. But I always love going down there...great fun.
And while I have you here, What are you doing next Sunday? I have a
pair of ticketsto the Panthers game in Charlotte next weekend, and wondered
if you would be interested in going with me? It will be fun if you can:)
Anyway, I am home for the night...write me back if you can:)

Hi, I have a question. I am learning about how to use c++ language. I have attempted to make my own programs, using the knowledge that I have, but sometimes when I get stuck on writing a code, it took me a long time to figure out what I should do. For instance, I was writing a program which tells you all the prime numbers that are less than the number you input on the console. It was a very short program, but it took me a while to write...

I have a complex query (16 table join) that until five days ago took 30 sec to run. It now takes eight hours. I restored a backup of the database from five days ago and the query plans are completely different for the same exact query. Five days ago the final estimated row count is 1.6M now it is 1.7E+10 OUCH! The amount of data added in those five days is insignificant (percentage wise). I rebuilt all the indexes using DBCC DBREINDEX...

Pulling our hair out over this one. We have two databases. One is used for OLTP. The other hosts old closed transactions and is mainly used for reporting. Every month we identify rows in the primary (OLTP) database that are eligible to be moved and ship them over. Been doing this for over a year without any problems. After last weekend's move everything went sour on our history database. A set of canned queries started taking orders of...

Hello all, I don't succeed in displaying the explain plan. I use IBM DB2 Universal Database 8.2. I tried to do the example given in the online help for "Visual Explain". The tables EXPLAIN_STATEMENT and EXPLAIN_INSTANCE exist. With VESAMPL.DDL, I loaded the predefined execution plans. In the next step, I'ld like to display the loaded access plans. So, I right clicked on "Show Explained Statements History" and got the result:

(sorry for the likely repost, but it is still not showing on my news server and after that much typing, I don't want to lose it) I am considering general error handling routines and have written a sample function to look up an ID in a table. The function returns True if it can find the ID and create a recordset based on that ID, otherwise it returns false. **I am not looking for comments on the usefulness of this function - it is

Using SQL Server 2000 SP4. There is a relatively complex stored procedure that usually completes in less than 20 seconds. Occasionally it times out after 180 seconds. The SP is called via ADO 2.8, using adCmdStoredProc command type. If I use Profiler to capture the EXEC that ADO sends to run the procedure, and run that from QA, the procedure completes in less than 20 seconds as it should. The procedure is created WITH RECOMPILE. One...

I have a routine that's calculating business days but its not counting the weekend days that are between the start date and end date. If my start date is 9/26/08 and my end date is 10/01/08, I should see 4 business days and 2 weekend days. How can I get that result? I'm getting 4 business days but its not counting the weekend days?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
