Hello group.
I have an app which can load "plugins" assemblies that are described
in the registry (each registry entry gives the full path to the plugin
..dll file). The plugins may be anywhere on the disk.
Each plugin defines a class which implements an interface known to the
app. The main app loads the plugin with Assembly.LoadFrom and then
uses Assembly.GetTypes() and Type.FindInterface to find the concrete
types in the plugin that...

Hi folks,
I'm looking at moving a large base of C++ code to .Net under tight time
constraints. The code runs in mission-critical environments, and I am
extremely concerned about the loader lock problem and the potential for
deadlocks.
After pouring over the available information, and trying a few experiments,
I am still left with a few questions and issues I hope someone out there can
shed some light on.

I've looked through the previous posts on this one and have verified
permissions and location of my Dlls, but I am still getting an
exception when I try to Load an assembly.
The directory where my Dlls are located give the ASPNET user full
control, and all Dlls used by the Assembly in question are in the
local folder with the rest of the web application Dlls.
Could someone take a look at my error and shed some light on this?

I'm receiving the error message shown below when I try to load an aspx file
(C# web application) on our server. The web application works fine if I
remove the reference to the dll so I know the application and IIS are both
ok. I ran depends on the dll and all referenced dlls are either in system32
or in the bin directory of the web application. I suspect it is some kind of
security issue.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
I recently moved our assembly which stores our 'common' code into the
GAC. I then moved all copies of this assembly out of the /bin folders,
restarted IIS. I get the error below.
This is the first time I have put something into the GAC, from what I
read, the GAC is probed first, before looking to application folders,
so surely my code should load from the GAC, if its not in the app
folders? Or, is the error due to the way we...

Hello,
I am trying to use vs.net 2005 to migrate a project originally in vs.net
2003. I started with creation of a "web site", and then created folders for
each component of the site.
I read somewhere that each folder under the "web site" is compiled in
separate assembly. I however, did not find that the "web site" creation in
vs.net 2005 created any AssemblyInfo.cs file.

I was under the impression that frames could be used in Windows forms in
earlier version of VB. However, in VB 2005 Express I don't see any such
tool/control. Is SplitContainer used for this purpose in VB 2005?
I want to create a frame in a Windows form because I'd like button clicks on
the left side of the form to change the form elements shown in the right
side of the form. Would each of the buttons on the left require a...

Hi
I am running a site built on asp.net 1.1 on a windows server 2003 (which is
running asp.net 2.0 - shared hosting at my webhost). The site is low traffic
and very simple (mostly static text apart from a couple of usercontrols that
pull info from a sql db).
The problem I'm getting is that it will run fine for a few days, then
suddenly the following error will occur:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
