Howdy All,
I have a Windows Service that often stops in its tracks with no
exception and no explanation on our QA system.
During testing on the development machine, it can handle any workload,
and complete with no problems. Even during testing on another test
machine, it can handle any workload, and complete with no problems.
This behavior has been tested multiple times.

I've read many articles on the subject and the majority of them give the same
solution that's in article 821625 on the MSDN website. I'm using the
following code and when a the client disconnects the child socket remains in
the CLOSE_WAIT state. Anyone have any idea what's missing?

receivethread loops/sleeps while waiting for data and then fires a

I have developed a windows service using C#, TcpListener class and its only
function is to listen for clients to connect and send back a respsonse. I
have a customer who states that everyday they need to restart the service so
that the application starts listening on the sockets again.
I have not been able to recreate this situation and don't know why the

Hi,
I try to implement a reusable socket class to send and receive data.
It seems to work but I have 2 problems :
1) I rely on Socket.Available to detect that the connection is closed (no
more data to expect). Sometimes, Socket.Available returns 0 but the other
end of the connection did not close it !
