Hi all,
How would you go about creating a .lnk file programmaticall y? I can't seem
to find an appropriate class.
TIA,

..LNK files are just that, FILES. There is nothing that says you cannot use
the FileStream to save that file type with the correct format. I don't know
specifically what the format is, but it is rather simple. I believe it is a
text file.

Thanks, Peter. I would've thought so, but at least in the simple editors
I've use, a lot of the characters don't appear as simple text.

Here's a sample of one way of doing it.

I can't seem to find an appropriate class.
There's no support for this in the .NET framework, that's probably why. Mattias

Just wondering if anyone has a simple example of creating a gridview
completely programmatically, i'm not doing anything terribly sophisticated.
When creating the gridview declaratively evertying works fine, however
programmatically, while the grid will display data that exsists in the
database, any operation on the data ( editing/updating/deleting ) seems to
cause a rowdeleting/updating etc error. Or is this simply not meant to be
done?

I have a problem which I think can be solved by creating new Settings
on the fly, but I'mnot sure if it's possible, or if a better solution
may exists.
Here's the situation: I have a project with many different
dataGridViews to display data, and many of them have 10-20 columns
(the actual number of displayed columns is user/client controlled, and
in a couple cases could be ~30). The client would like to be able to
resize the columns...

Hi All,
How to add the HTML script when creating new ASPX page. After it is done I
may need to add some Meta tags etc... but the html script is not there.
Is there an option in the ASP.NET that WHEN creating a new aspx page, then
it will generate that basic HTML scrip as well.

According to the MSDN docs, we cannot programatically create our own themes
or skins:
"Page and control developers do not use the ControlSkinDelegate,
ControlSkin, or PageTheme classes directly. These classes are used by the
ASP.NET parser and runtime ... " (from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.ui.pagetheme.aspx).
My question:
Is there really no way that we can programmatically create our own themes
and have ASP.NET...

I am not accustomed to creating xml files programmatically. The big picture
is this: This will be in VB/VS 2005/ winforms. I have a DTD, a sample XML,
and an outside data source I will use to populate the XML. In general I
think I know how to create elements and attributes and I'm sure I can hack
something together but I'm wondering if I'm missing (or forgetting) a better
way (other than a long line of hard-coded CreateElement commands)....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
