How to delete a custom event log source

PCC
I am using Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. I have a series of
custom event log files that were created by an application gone bad. They
are all showing up in the event viewer and I am not sure how to get rid of
them. Any advice, links or pointers? Please keep in mind that these are
NOT the system event log files. Thank you.

PCC,

Have you tried the Delete method on the EventLog class? Also, have you
tried to unregister the source by calling the DeleteEventSour ce method on
the EventLog class?

Hope this helps.

I was hoping there was a UI way of doing it, but I just wrote a console app
and got it over with. It took all of 90 seconds. Thanks Nicholas.

I have created a custom log for my apps to write to. Writing to the log seems to be no problem, it's when I go to read it I get unexpected results. I have an application that reads the log and displays it's contents in a grid, and it also receives event notification from the log when it's updated. When the event fires I get exactly the text that was logged in exactly the way I logged, but when I read the entries from the log, or view them...

My problem is that my code makes sense and I think my logic seems fine but when I click the button on my datagrid nothing seems to happen. Have you any idea where Im going wrong. Was thinking it might have something to do with my page load/ postback but not really sure. Can someone please...

Hello, For several reasons I want to replace the built-in memory management with some custom built. The mem management itlsef is not subject to my question - it's ok to the point that I have nice and working allocation deallocation routines. However, I don't want to loose the nice extras of new operator, like - constructor calling, typecasting the result, keeping the array size, etc. For another bunch of reasons, outside this scope I...

I'm reposting this. I'm kinda in a bind untill i get this figured out, so if anyone has some input it would sure help me out. Ok, I’ve noticed a few gridview problems floating around the forum. Everyone wants to do a java confirmation box when a user clicks the delete button. Fair enough, basic user design rules state that you should always confirm a delete action. There is also a consensus that the best way to do this is a template...

Hello ..NET 1.1, VS 2003, C# & asp.net I have tried to follow msdn instructions and samples but I can not get an event to fire for this button on the datagrid. There has to be something obvious missing here, but after 2 days I am ready to explode ! Please help. To create the Delete button I selected the grid in design view, clicked the "Columns" property and added the Delete button in the

The .NET 2.0 documentation states the following: When using a DataSet or DataTable in conjunction with a DataAdapter & a relational data source, use the Delete method of the DataRow to remove the row. The Delete method marks the row as Deleted in the DataSet or DataTable but does not remove it. Instead when the DataAdapter encounters a row marked as Deleted, it executes its DeleteCommand method to delete the row at the data source. The...

On a form - I have a datagridview which is docked to the entire form. The datagridview allows users to Delete and/or Add Rows. On the Form_Load event I Fill the datagridview source table with a sql DataAdapter (da) da.SelectCommand.CommandText = "Select * from Servertbl1" da.Fill(ds, "tbl1") so far, so good. If I add a row to the datagridview I use the following sqlDataAdapter code to update the server table - which works OK when...

Actually, my installer package is not for a Windows Service, but for a WinForms application. Well, it is kind of both: this is a multi-project solution with its main target being a WinForms application, but it also includes a Windows Service. My custom install actions configuration includes output from a Class Library project that contains the custom actions followed by the output of the Windows Service project to register the service....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
