I'm having a major problem with a databound listbox in C#. In the
constructor for the form I am trying to pre-select some of the items based
in information in the database. When I step through the debugger it all
seems to be working properly until the Load function is called, and then all
my selections but 1 are unselected. Anybody had any experience with this
and know of a fix?

If you look at explorer, right clicking on a file, first selects the file,
then throws up the context menu relating to that selection.
With a Windows ListBox control and a simple context menu, the default
behaviour seems to display the context menu on the listbox, but there is no
selection.
Now I know that explorer's using a listview, and that the context menu acts
differently if you click on open space (no selection), but can I...

Hi,
I'm attempting to do a drag and drop operation from one listbox to another.
I have my listboxes setup with SelectionMode = MultiExtended so that I can
use the shift key, cntrl key, etc. to make multiple selections.
The problem I am having is that when I use the shift key to select a range
of items, I first click on one item (item gets highlighted), then, holding
down the shift key, I select another item (the range of items gets...

Has anyone got some sample code to do drag and drop from one listbox to
another listbox using VB.Net 2005. The below code works for draging and
droping one at a time, but not for multiselected items. I tried setting up
an array to capture the selected items and then move them with the dragndrop
code, but after selecting the items when the user clicks on the items to
drag them the selection goes back to one item. Also I have code for the...

I've nearly completed the migration of my first ListBox control to a
ListView in detail view, and I'm only experiencing one problem:
My ListBox.SelectedIndexChanged procedure began as follows:
NextPointID = ListBox_Points.SelectedIndex + 1
The equivalent of that command for a ListView would seem to be:
NextPointID = ListView_Points.SelectedIndices(0) + 1

Hi All,
Basically for ListBox and ListView controls, its possible to add checkboxes. Instead of a checkbox is it possible to add radio button?
Generally, when a user clicks on a checkbox, usually they tend to think of multiple select... and for radio buttons its vice versa. Radio Buttons would be much more user friendly than checkboxes when it comes to single selection.
Can you anyone help me out in finding a ListView or ListBox control...

Hi,
I have a odd but a known question about listbox. I know listbox
control can provide multi-select, multi-extendend selections. But i
wonder if this selection type belongs to them or it has another
tecnique.
As you may know, in softwares like Windows Media Player or Winamp
playlist has a listbox and it can be selected in 2 types. First type
refers to player's own selection and second selection type can be done
by user to look for...

Is there a way to get a ListView control to fire its
SelectedIndexChanged event like the ListBox control? When the user
selects multiple items at once, the ListView fires the event as each
item gets selected. The ListBox waits to fire the event until all
selections are complete.
Thanks,
Mike

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
