CYShao,

Well, you will have to have a license to run the program, so that is the
first thing that you would need.

Once you purchased the appropriate software, you will have to create an
active document host in .NET. There used to be a control in VB6 which
allowed you to host OLE documents (like word, excel, etc, etc), but there is
no such counterpart in .NET.

So, you will have to create your own Active Document Container in .NET.
You can do this with Managed Extensions for C++. It is documented in
knowledge base article 316587, titled "HOW TO: Automate Embedded Office
ActiveX Documents with C++ .NET", located at (watch for line wrap):

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316587

Hope this helps.

Hi, We a have a small office network of 3 users. Each user has their own copy of an MS Access Front-End which is linked via their own local ODBC connection to our server's MySQL database (Linux Machine) 2 of our 3 users machines can import/link the data back into their front-ends instantly. The third machines will connect, but it is so ultra slow that you just cannot import all the tables and use the

Access 2002. I am trying to import a fixed width text file. When I get to the field options window, the "Field Name:" control says Field1 and Field1 is highlighted in the bottom of the window. When I highlight Field2 in the bottom of the window, the "Field Name:" control still says Field1. It doesn't change to Field2. It doesn't matter what field I highlight in the bottom, the "Field Name:" control still says Field1. This problem...

Hi All, Firstly, I am aware from reading previous posts that if someone is determined enough, they will crack an Access Application. However, this problem seems basic but I can't find a workaround. I have a frontend/backend database at work which contains some sensitive information. I have used Access security along with my own and have disabled the shift key at start-up. I thought this was quite secure but I have found that someone...

I have been through every trick I know, or has been suggested. I have a one to two million line fixed field database in text format. I want to bring it into Access 97. When I use the external data import, the list of files to import does not include text files of any type, only other database formats. On a 102,000 line text file, I was able to split it with Word 97, import the split files into Excel 97 one at a time, and then save...

I know you guys are heavy duty coders, while I do ad-hoc analysis, and rarely write code. And, I may be in the wrong groups because this is about an install issue, and I don't think it's a code issue. But ... Office 2000 was on this machine when it was given to me. I don't own it. After installing Office 97, mine, in a different directory, and checking most of it out, I uninstalled Office 2000. Well, it's a lot easier to upgrade than...

Hi. I have been running an access Database in Office 2003 for a while now. When I upgraded to Office 2007 one of my macro buttons has stopped working. The Button looks up to VBA code to Import a specific Excel spread sheet from a specific location on my hard drive. This file is updated but never re-named or moved so to save time I have created the import macro to do the import steps for me. This has been working fine for me in Office...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
