#import library - objects are not recognized

I am using #import directive to import the excel library to make excel files but the excel object is not recognized by my application. Here is what I do: I have simple dialog based MFC application in VC 6.00 In the dialog .cpp file, I add the following

#import "D:\\Progra m Files\\Microsof t Office\\Office\ \MSO9.DLL" no_namespac
#import "C:\\Progra m Files\\Common Files\\Microsof t Shared\\VBA\\VB A6\\VBE6EXT.OLB " no_namespac
#import "d:\\progra m files\\microsof t office\\office\ \excel9.olb" no_namespac

and than in the member function of the dialog

_Application app; // app is the Excel _Application objec

// Start Excel and get Application object..
if(!app.CreateD ispatch("Excel. Application")

AfxMessageBox(" Couldn't start Excel.")

els

//Make Excel Visible and display a messag
app.SetVisible( TRUE)
AfxMessageBox ("Excel is Running!")
It gives comipler errors, like error C2065: '_Application' : undeclared identifie

What am I missing? I have spend a while to trying to figure this out but no luck. Btw the .TLH and .TLI files are correctly generated for all the 3 libs

thanks

That's what the Python style guides advise. They don't seem to like def frob(x): import re if re.search('sdfxyz', x): ... instead preferring that you pollute your module's global namespace with the names of all your imports. What's the point of that? It gets worse when you want to do something like

This is even stranger: it makes it if I import the module a second time: import dbimp as dbimp import sys if __name__ == "__main__": dbimp.install() #k = sys.modules.keys() #k.sort() #for kk in k:

Hi I'm new at this and need some help. I have a "solution" with 2 projects - the main project and a library. The library is simple, it contains a text box that will appear many times in the form in the main project My problem is that I would like events (leaving the text box) to be recognized in the main project. Alternatively I would like to be able to access classes in the main project -- I would like to be able to have the class with...

Please excuse the length of this post, I am unfortunately long-winded, and don't know how to make my postings more brief. I have a C++ class library (and application generator, called Yacc++(r) and the Language Objects Library) that I have converted over to C#. It works okay. However, in the C# version, one has to build the class library into the generated application, because I haven't structured this one thing right. I would like to...

I'm using Python for what is becoming a sizeable project and I'm already running into problems organizing code and importing packages. I feel like the Python package system, in particular the isomorphism between filesystem and namespace, doesn't seem very well suited for big projects. However, I might not really understand the Pythonic way. I'm not sure if I have a specific question here, just a general plea for advice. 1) Namespace....

Hi, I have some problems when importing a library. Suppose I have a directory /home/user/pythonlib/package in which I have a python- library called test.py. Now I want to import that, so I put the following directory into the PYTHONPATH: /home/user/pythonlib and in my main python script I put: from package import test.

Hi, I tried to link a C program to a library which is written by me in C+ +. I read some posts about linking a C program to C++ libraries. It seems doable by adding extern "C" to the C++ head file and to the function body modifier. However, in my test, it still doesn't work. The linking error messages are like undefined reference for new operator, and undefined reference from dequeue.tcc. ( sorry I don't know how to copy lines from...

Hi, I'm trying to work out some strange (to me) behaviour that I see when running a python script in two different ways (I've inherited some code that needs to be maintained and integrated with another lump of code). Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
