Hi,
I originally posted this as a reply to a rather old thread in
dotnet.framework.general and didn't get any response. I thought it might be
more relevant here; anyone got any ideas? My questions are below...

Hi
I am trying to request a web service from an IIS server via https within a
pocket pc windows application. The IIS web service has been configured to use
SSL. This web service is just a simple HelloWorld program, which returns a
string when called. ICertificatePolicy interface is implemented on the pocket
pc application so that it will accept all certificates when an https request
is made.
Initial test on a seperate ASP.NET...

I am experiencing a problem with AuthHeaderValue. I have implemented web
services which use authentication through AuthHeaderValue. This works
perfectly for any Windows application but it fails for a Pocket Pc or
Smartphone app. The code is the same, the thing compiles, but I always get
a null reference exception when I try to run the app.
I've seen examples in various books and online, and to my knowledge this
should work fine in the...

Hi
Using 2003 - targeting the compact framework (c#), but would like to do most
development using the full.net (manually leaving out stuff not in the
compact framework).
Q. Trying to find a way of converting a project to have builds for both
compact and full. Project properties doesn't seem to help
Thanks

I've managed to create a desktop app (in vs2005) using .net that accesses a
web service.
However porting to the compact framework is a failure, because the
response(s) to the proxy class calls are not constructed properly. The
service uses a session token that is in a member object of the returned
structure. wsdl.exe makes this object a base class (in .net and .netcf) but
in the cf app, it shows as null, but other members of the response...

Hi.
I'm developing application for compact framework (windows mobile 2003) in
C# and have one problem.
From application, I'm connecting to FTP server and downloading some files.
The problem is that I can connect to ftp only when internet connection is
already established on device. If there is no connection to the internet
(GPRS connection in my case), application raises exception.

New discovery.
If I take a perfectly good database, and "compact/repair" on it with Access
2000 (seems to be at multiple sites--I've tried it with my system here, at
another office on an entirely different network), it damages the file
somehow. The user's machine that did the compact/repair can see the file
fine. But any networked user can't get in. I can double click on a good
database file from any user (over the network) and it...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
