I'm running into a 'timing' or 'race' condition on my form. All textbox
controls are bound to a datasource, but certain other controls (like
labels) need to be updated when you move to a different record. In addition
some of the databound controls need to be modified (ie: verified) based on
the values of other databound controls. For example, if one checkbox is
checked, then I need to ensure that another databound control has a certain...

Here's one that should probably have the sub-heading "I'm sure I asked this
once before, but ...".
Two users are both looking at the same data, from a database. One user
changes the data and commits it. How does the other user get the updated
view without polling for changes? Is there some sort of callback mechanism
that can be set up on the dataset or connection?
TIA

Hi,
Sort of new with the whole treeview control and I was wondering is there a way to build a treeview menu using my SQL data I pull from a database instead of having to hard code it into the webpage. Pasted below is my current code but what I would like to do is instead make a table in SQL that data can be added or modified to and have it generate the menu according to the data instead. Thanks for the help,
Mike

Anyone have any ideas on how to determine when the back-end file (containing
only tables) has been updated with new data.
The date/time of the file won't work because it gets updated to the current
date/time when the back-end file is compacted.
I'm just looking for an easy way to determine when there has been a change to
data in any table in the back-end file.
Maybe something is updated in one of the system tables??

Hi,
I have a Winforms 2.0 project that I'm working on that involves populating a treeview control from data contained in a fairly large dataset that has to be refreshed periodically.
I have no problems populating the treeview nodes initially, but am somewhat flustered as to how I should go about keeping the treeview control current with the dataset.
After the dataset has been refreshed, I can, of course, clear the treeview nodes and...

I have a master page that contains a simple treeview populated using a
SiteMapDataSource so the data is static. Here is my problem. When I expand
the menu to show the 2nd level treeview items and then click on one to move
to the selected page, when the new page is displayed the treeview has
reverted back to it's original non-expanded state.
What is the best way to maintain the expanded/collapsed state of the master
page treeview while...

First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
