I realize this is the php group, but I have a question that recurses
back to my php install.
My objective is a pure 64 bit shared object installation of php 5.0 on
UltraSparc Solaris 9 compiled with the Sun Compiler version 8.
My problem is that EVERYTHING builds great EXCEPT that the 6b
distribution of JPEG will NOT build a shared object, thus gd cannot
include support for JPEG, thus php loses that functionality.

Hi!
Can someone tell me can I use MsBuild with NuNit today?
Or is MsBuild only available for MSDN subscriptions ?
Or what do you use for an automatic build process + automatic NuNit testing.
I looking for a 2 in 1 solution (build + NuNit)

I wonder if someone has any ideas about the following.
I am currently producing some reports for a manufacturing company who work
with metal.
A finished part can contain multiple sub-parts to make up the finished part.
The sub-parts can also be made up of sub-parts and those sub-parts can also
be made up of sub-parts etc etc.
All parts are contained within the same table and I have a seperate table

Hi there!
I'm working on a medium-sized .NET web application written in c#. We are
using Visual Studio 2003 for development and Visual Source Safe as our code
repository. Occasionally, we do a build and a deployment to our production
server using a batch script which extracts the latest version of our code
from VSS, compiles it and copies it onto the production server. All that is
good and well, but I would like to add a small feature to...

Hello!
In VS.Net 2003 it was easy to make the build number to increase
automatically at each build. Therefore it was easy to ensure that only one
assembly would get a certain build number. I'm doing "No touch deployment"
so it's particularly important that the versioning works as it should as
assemblies otherwise do not get probed for.
May some of you provide me with a hint on how to make the version number to
increase automatically...

I was reading the code of FFmpeg and it seems that they use malloc
just too much. The problems and dangers of malloc are widely known.
Malloc also has some overhead (although I don't know what is the
overhead of automatic variable sized arrays, I suspect it is smaller
than that of malloc), although I'm not too worried about it.
I was thinking that, with C99's variable length arrays, malloc
shouldn't be needed most of the time. But I'm...

When I change the source code and save it I have currently always to press
explicitely F6 zu "compile" the code (and get new error list).
Isn't there an automatic build function which is called whenever I save new code ?
BTW: What is the difference between the two menues:
Build->Build solution

Hello,
We all know that a template function can automatically deduce its
parameter type and instantiate, e.g.
template <tpyename T>
void func(T a);
func(0.f);
This will cause func<floatto be instantiated. The user does not have

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
