Open project from web problem

Hi all:
we used to have a development web server in our LAN within same domain.
Now we need to build another web development server, but that server is
inside its own domain without any trusting.
I copied my web projects to new server, created same virtual directories
in new IIS, shared wwwroot$, I even created a new user in new web server's
domain with same username and password, added this user to IIS's operator.
But I failed to open project from web. Everytime I enter new server's URL,
VS .NET popped up a dialog box let me select project file from local
machine.

Anybody has some idea, how can I open project from remote server's IIS
again? (I can do this with my old web server.)

The funny thing is, I was able to create new web project on that new
development server. But after I closed the new created project, I could not
open it anyway, got same problem as described before.

Hi all, I've read the various posts concerning file access on mapped drives--I think problem is different: The problem: Open a VB Winforms project from a mapped drive and all files open fine except form files. Their code opens fine but trying to open them in the form designer I get (for instance) "The item 'MainForm.vb' does not exist in the project directory. It

I came in today and tried to edit a project that I was working with, locally, at the tail end of last week. This web project was created, hosted, and only edited locally. I truly cannot remember anything that I installed/changed on my workstation that could have goofed up my IIS, but I simply cannot get VS 2003 to be able to open an exiting or create a new web project. I have tried the following: * Uninstall and Reinstall IIS...

I am trying to open web project in VS 2003 using the File Share method. VS is running on XP Pro (Host) and I am accessing the root web of an XP Pro install on Virtual PC (Server) running on the same machine. I have the loopback adapter running on the Host. The Host is sharing it's Internet connectivity with the loopback adapter and the Server is using the loopback it for Internet connectivity. All the networking stuff is working fine.

I have encountered the same problem another posted about several months ago. Unfortunately, there was no result posted on the old thread. I have added the file type to the deployment project. After installation, double clicking a file with that...

Hello, I have a windows form that has a series of linklabels on it, and I need to have each linklabel, when clicked, open a separate windows form that has a single paramter passed into it. The form that has the System.Windows.Forms.LinkLabel controls on it is in a different project and under a different namespace from the file where the LinkLabel_LinkClicked events are, so I can't just do frm.ShowDialog under the LinkClicked method. ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
