I have just installed Office 2003 and Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003,
including the Developer Extensions for Access. I kept my Access 2000/MOD
installation intact (I hope), installed Access 2003 and upgraded all the
other Office apps. I have all updates/service packs installed including Jet
SP8. OS is XP Pro.
I have a repeatable situation where opening a report with code will cause
any mdb to crash every time. The following is one...

Hi,
I am having a problem with .Net / Visual Studio that I can't find the cause
of. I have searched newsgroups and the web and find people with similar but
different (I think) problems. Here's the issue and some of what I've found
out - I really hope it's familiar to someone and there's an answer!
I have a solution with about a dozen projects, including 2 asp.net web
applications and 1 asp.net web service project. Having migrated to...

Hi all,
<bitching and moaning section>
I am asking for any help I can get here... I am at the end of my tether... I
don;t consider myself a genius in any way whatsoever, but I do believe I
have a logical way of thinking that has served me well during my years of
application development with various tools...
But having been working with VB.NET now for close to a month... I am
beginning to doubt my abilities...

Hi All,
I have an ASP page that is sent a file location as a parameter. It opens
this file, loads the ADODB.Stream object and does a binary write to the page
forcing the download dialog to appear. If the user selects "Open", "Save"
or "Cancel", the window closes, which is the desired behavior. This all
works fine, until I installed Windows XP SP2. The newly created browser
window remains open after clicking one of the buttons. I've...

I have a Windows forms project which is part of a larger project.
When I built this project, it worked great and had no problems.
I recently was running the main project and clicked on the menu to
open the form for this project and as soon as it loaded, all the
controls on the form were frozen, no reaction to clicking on buttons,
etc. Then I tried to close it by clicking on the X and nothing
happens..I tried to close the entire main...

I have an Access 2000 mde application which uses ADO and pass through
queries to communicate with SQL Server 7, 2000 or 2005.
Some of my customers, especially those with SQL Server 2005, have had
pass-through queries fail due to intermittent connection failures.
I can easily restablish a connection for ADO.
My problem is with pass-through queries.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
