VS 2003 builds targeting framework v1.0?

Hello,

I've read in some websites that you need some sort of tweak (a
config file) to do this...

Let me give you a specific example...I'm mostly interested in developing
components and user controls (Including Windows Forms and Web Forms)...If I
develop it with VS2003 and target it to v1.0, will a VS2002 user be able to
use it without any tweak or configuration file?

Thanks in advance...

Ozden,

I am curious, why would you want to develop in 2003 for .NET 1.0 (which
is what 2002 targets). I mean, 2003 had some enhancements, but nothing
(IMO) that would make me NEED to get it. I would just develop in 2002,
instead of "tweaking" my dev environment. ("tweaking" never sounds reliable
to me).

Hope this helps.

Ozden,

As long as all of the components that you leverage (reference/include in
your user control, etc.) are available in v1.0 of the framework VS.NET 2002
clients will be able to consume your user control.

I developed an application using .NET 2003 and now I need it to run on a server that is running the 1.1 framework. The admin is unwilling to upgrade with weeks of testing. I set the compatibility with 1.0 framework, but I'm still getting an error on the server asking for 1.1 framework stuff. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, Can someone tell me if I could use Visual Studio 2005 (RTM) alongside Visual Studio .NET 2003? Also, can VS 2005 generate output targeting 1.1? I have code written for .NET 1.1 and therefore need to either A, have VS 2005 target 1.1 as well as 2.0, or B, keep 2003 for 1.1 and use 2005 for newer applications using .NET 2.0. Thank you in advance.

When running my asp.net hosting service (asp.net without IIS), on server 2003 with IIS not installed, I get the following when trying to process a request. "System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL (aspnet_isapi.dll)." Of course the dll is able to be found, it's still in the framework directory and for grins I even put it in my service's local directory. This is apparantly server 2003 not allowing asp.net to be run if IIS was not...

I recently upgraded from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET 2005. I have several projects that I created in Visual Studio .NET 2003, but when I try to open them in Visual Studio .NET 2005 it tries to force me to convert them. for some of these it would be fine, but some of them run on servers that do not support .NET 2.0 yet, I simply want to edit the code remotely but not convert anything. How can I prevent Visual Studio .NET...

I have a project developed under VS2005 on one PC. If I move the exe file and dlls to another PC which has VS2003 installed plus framework 2 When I try to run the exe (by clicking on the exe) it asks me which 2003 debugger I want to use. Whatever answer I give it does not work! I built the exe as a "release". Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
