Passing Custom Object into Backend Layer

Hai there,

I have a custom object called objSelection of class
clsSelection. This class is defined in my FrontEnd C#
Windows application and has some properties. I want to
pass this object to an Backend object, like this:

btnOK_Click(..)
{
...

BE_Selection myBE = new BE_Selection();
DataTable dt = myBE.ExecuteSel ection( objSelection );
myBE = null;

...

}

How to define the Selection class in my backend, so I can
read the properties set in my FrontEnd??

Thanx,
Octavie

First off this is a great reference for passing data between the Data Access and Business Layers: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnanchor/html/Anch_EntDevAppArchPatPrac.asp I use my own classes in the Business layer. I want to keep the Data Access layer from requiring these classes so I tried passing a Datarow between the layers and it seems to work good for me. Constructing the datarow in the Class...

Hi, DataSets are usually resource heavy. Instead of having to pass them from my middle tier to my presentation layer I was wondering if anyone has developed a custom collection object that is less resource heavy and can be passed lightweight to the presentation layer. Thanks, NJ

This is a sort of pattern question, but relating to how components are coupled in a three-tier system. I have a presentation layer, business layer and data access layer, the first is the EXE, whilst the other two are implemented as DLLs. The EXE also references a DLL that contains various user controls, one of which is based on a grid control. The coupling is currently like this:

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
