Handles keyword

Use the following syntx to assign handlers to events:

this.Load += new System.EventHan dler(Page_Load) ;

-----Original Message-----
Hi,
I am developing an asp.net web application.
The scenario is this:

I have a class (MyBaseWebForm. vb) that is a class in an
assembly. The purpose of this class is to perform some
common functionality and act as a base class for all the
web forms in my ASP.Net application. This class inherits
from System.Web.UI.P age

In this class, I have an eventhandler that handles the
Page Load event of the base class , ie, Page.

This class is further inherited by all my web forms in my
ASP.Net application.

In the page load events of the web forms, I need to do
further processing. The code in VB.Net would look
something like this:

Public Class MyBaseWebForm
Inherits System.Web.UI.P age

Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object,
ByVal e As System.EventArg s) Handles MyBase.Load
'Some implementation goes here

End Sub

End Class

Public Class MyWebForm
Inherits MyBaseWebForm
Private Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As
System.Objec t, ByVal e As System.EventArg s) Handles
MyBase.Load
End Sub
End Class

Could anyone tell me how to achieve the same using C# as
C# does not provide the Handles key word?

Cheers,
Raj

.

Ok, so here is my situation: Let's assume I have a function that makes good use of the kwargs parameter. It requires that there is a certain "format" for the kwargs keywords. (I am using Django, btw). The format is like such: "SOMEVAL__exact", etc., where SOMEVAL is some value that it parses from the keyword. Now, I want to call this function, specifying the kwargs. The problem is that I want to dynamically set the kwargs. For...

Right now I put my VB code in the aspx pages. I would prefer to use codebehind, especially many of my VB functions may be shared across multiple aspx pages. I've tried a few pages with codebehind by follwing some examples on the Web and they work just fine. However, I am scared away from codebehind by such extenstions as "Handles MyBase.Load", "Handles Button1.Click" and "Handles MyBase.Init" etc. which we seem to have to add to the...

Hello, Is there an equivalent to using "Handles" in the codebehind for c#? Or do I have to declare every event in the GridView control like the following: <asp:GridView ID="gvSearchList" runat="server" DataSourceID="dsSearchList" DataKeyNames="ServiceIdea_ID" OnSelectedIndexChanged="gvSearchList_SelectedIndexChanged">

So I am learning c++/cli and I have a couple of questions about handles. From what I understand these two are pretty similar except that handles point to Managed Heap and Pointer point to the native heap. My question is in the following code where is the handle pointing to? int^ handle = 5; is this on the managed heap? and what is the diff between the above and this:

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
