What's all this WndProc stuff?

I've dealt with inheriting classes and overriding methods etc., but I keep
seeing loads of examples that override WndProc, such as

http://www.codeproject.com/cs/miscctrl/treeview.asp

What's this all about? The code looks pretty nasty, but there are so many C#
examples out there writing things this way, I'm sure I'm missing something
rather huge.... What is it, and why doesn't it look sick and low-level?

Hi All I need to get the audio messages using WndProc to determine the right time to close a waveout device and release the buffers. I tried to override WndProc but I don´t receive any message related with multimedia like MM_WOM_DONE, but I get all the messages to mouse click or button press. Need I use some special inheritance? I´m using NativeWindow .. Anyone has some suggestion? Thanks in advance Mauricio

Greetings! I have a VB.Net 2003 project that was originally written in VB6, converted to VB.Net 2002, and then converted to VB.Net 2003. I am trying to handle a form's Resize event. I put a breakpoint in it and saw that that event got fired four times before the form's Load event got fired! I then saw that I have the following routine in the form's code: Private Const WM_SHOWWINDOW = &H18 Private m_loaded As Boolean

I'm working on an owner-drawn combo box which has extended functionality. I have to do something to the dropdown list when it drops down, then undo it when it is closed up again. But I can't see an event which seems to be a "CloseUp" event - is there such an event? Surely there must be!

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
